amazing to me that montreal fans rip on subban like he is brandon manning or another 6/7 defenseman. your team mishandled not only one of the best players in the game but one of the few who is fun to follow and watch outside the rink. shame on your management and shame on you |

I bet a year ago Subban wouldn't have made any of these guys' lists?? He'd still be a selfish, defensive liability who couldn't crack Team Canada. Funny how this all changed all of a sudden?? Hmmm.....wonder why??? - Snots33_77
Because everybody who didn't already think so came to realise that if they agreed with Therrien, they were out to (frank)ing déjeuner... |

I get it, you wanna be cool and edgy and say Hampus Lindholm, but how is he better than John Klingberg? |

I haven't seen anyone here ripping on subban.
We DO find funny that he's finally being recognized by other fans for the great player that he is mostly after he's been traded out of Montreal.
And yes, he is one of the most entertaining players to watch out there... will miss him greatly for this. |

Lewis and Jaeckel, no Subban? Really? Aside from Karlsson and maybe Doughty, there is no better defenseman? |

Only people who praise Pk over Weber are analytics nerds, online bloggers and fans, and the media. Too bad most NHL coaches, GM's, and players would take Weber on their team. But hey I'll listen to a bunch of armchair experts that look at a graph. - maxbart5
I love Shea Weber, he's my favorite player.
PK Subban is just better right now. |

These things become so predictable
Tanner leaves off Doughty, Jason Lewis has him at 2.
How could this possibly be, from 2 stat guys. Do you not get the same iron clad info? Or is there clearly, bias/eye test that you two would blast others for? - sbroads24
The funny thing to me is Tanner's description of Hedman. Do you remember your whole rant against Duchene? |

Well this is the thing. he didn't have a great year. Last year, he made a case for being number 1. I guess the question is, is his off year due to him being 33 years old, or was it just an off year. Because if it's because he's 33, he might not be top 5 going forward. If it was just an off year, then he's a lead pipe cinch top 5.
My feeling is that his level of physical fitness will see him have a year or two more as one of the best in the league.
But I can also understand why some might leave him off. - prock
Again, he's a great defenseman. He'd be a #1 on 20+ teams. But right now, to me, he is non a top-2 NHL defenseman. If this list was taken a year ago, then you could maybe make a case. Whether it's an off-year or age, right now, he isn't a top-2. Top-5 case could be made easily, though. |

I love all of these butt-hurt Canadians fans. Your tears taste so good! Fact is while Weber is still good, he is hardly a top 25 defenseman anymore, and you don't need to look at graphs to see that. He's lost a step. There isn't some PK conspiracy, he's just really good.
1- Karlsson
2- Hedman
3- OEL
4- Doughty
5- Subban
Then probably Kieth, Burns |

Completely agree, Letang is one of the best out there. Him being on someone's top 5 list wouldn't be shocking at all. - Scabeh
Letang, like Malkin, needs to stay healthy to stake claim to a top 5 list. That's been their biggest downfall. Can't hold it against anyone for not including those two in a best of list if they can't stay on the ice and create proof that they belong, but I'm just surprised that after the year Tanger had no one in the hotstove even mentioned his name. |

But at the same time, it is funny that JJ, while he is clearly critical of the Hawks on his main blog, always manages to include a questionable/debatable Hawk in every one of these that he takes part in. So I can understand someone calling it "a shocker" that he included Keith, although it carries some merit. |

RE: J Machette
I agree, it is an opinion - as I clearly said. The only thing that isn't debatable is who is number one.
As for trading PK, I guess I should have specified deferencemen only. It was in reference to the Weber trade and I guess I figured that was sort of implied. |
