For some reason, I cant see Holland using the 7/3 model if only because of his loyalty toward protecting Kronwall (or they offer Vegas something under-the-table to not select him)
Those Nielsen, Abdelkader, Franzen (although he is thankfully LITR, which is weird to be thankful for), Helm contracts are filthy
What a train wreck of a once-envy-of-the-league franchise that was almost unbeatable in the AI's difficult mode of NHL06
EDIT: I didn't realize how sh!t the Ericsson, Glendening (how'd this guy get this much term) and Howard contracts were either |

I noticed that, too. I'm gonna assume he's keeping Brandan Smith, |

Coyle would be a bad loss for The Wild. |

I agree that the Wild are going to be in a tough spot with the expansion draft no matter what they decide, but I don't think they go down the route of 4F+4D. GM Fletcher has already said he's going 7F-3D-1G route. This will require a goalie acquisition as the Wild only have 1 goalie under contract for next season currently and you have to expose 1 goalie, but thats not a huge roadblock. With the 7-3-1 route they are required to protect Parise, Koivu, Pomminville, and Suter. Then you can protect Dubnyk, and 4 of the following; Coyle, Grandlund, Nino, Zucker and Haula. Only exposing 1 of those 5 instead of 4 of them. Then on defense I highly doubt Scandella is protected, but Spurgeon probably would be. Then Dumba or Brodin will be a tough decision on who to protect and that is primarily why those two have been rumored in a good amount of trades. Fortunately Reilly and Folin won't be eligible and they seem to be stable NHLers so back-filling someone if needed won't be the end of the world on defense.
Basically I'd rather expose 1 F who probably doesn't have a great 2016 season and pending moves then exposing 1 defenseman (brodin/dumba) that I choose. I think is a better option then going down the 4x4 route. |

I agree with you when it comes to Florida. Problem is Pysyk isn't signed after this season, so we would need to do that (obviously) before we can expose him I believe. |

If Brandon Davidson plays as well as he did last year he will get claimed before Griffin Reinhart. I wouldnt be suprised if the Oilers would rather protect Davidson and expose Maroon Yak and Pouliout. He is much more needed than those 3 for the Oilers |

For The LA Kings, if they do not protect Alec Martinez, he will be taken. Not some blah middle nine forward. I HOPE they take Brown...I can at least dream! |

Checkout who these aholes think is the best franchise in the NHL, what a joke. Final organizational rankings for all 31 NHL franchises http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1064621 (via http://thesco.re/theScore_App ) - Dcoms
How could you not see that coming though? Did you see how they are "calculating" their conclusions? Management, coaches, farm system, & owners. If they looked at current roster then the Leafs would have been much further down on this list but I'm guess that wasn't the point of this little article.
I mean this article is ridiculous but it was pretty obvious what they were going for. |

I'm a little confused, is this what RW would do or what he thinks the teams will do because keeping middling players like Pouliot, Yakapov and Marroon over Reinhart for a team that is starved for defense is exactly the type of bonehead decisions Edmonton has been making for years that have buried the franchise for a decade. Pouliot and Marroon are solid players but both are pushing 30 and are realistically 3rd line players on a good team so I just don't understand protecting either of them over a 22 years old defenseman who is on the verge of being a solid top 4. I'm not even going to get into Yakapov because there is no justifiable reason to protect him over Reinhart, it would be a blessing from the hockey Gods if LV would take Yakapov off their hands because they were duped because of where he was drafted. |

Oddly enough the part that made me laugh the most was his analysis of the Devils,
"Ray Shero hasn't yet been able to duplicate the success he enjoyed with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Devils have been mired in relative mediocrity since he took over for Lou Lamoriello."
I mean NO poop! He's been there a total of 1 season and that somehow means they're mired in relative mediocrity because they missed the playoffs. I'm not even going to get into the rest because it's clear whoever wrote the article is a Toronto fan which tells you all you need to know.

Apparently, the Coyotes are the 14th best team in the NHL.
Also, he has Las Vegas behind Columbus, which is just wrong. |

Yakupov would be a decently expansion pick up. The glitz might be over, but he's a pretty good change of scenery candidate. Though I don't think an expansion team would be a good situation for him. Agree on Reinhart. |

Yes. And from how I understand it, they cannot trade that player for the first year. |

It wasn't so much about Yakapov not being a decent expansion selection, it was more about Edmonton being blessed by losing a player that has done nothing and has worn out his welcome as opposed to losing a true top prospect like Reinhart or quality players like Pouliot or Marroon.
