You could always package Reilly and Nylander. That might be enough.

Of course leafs are in on fowler.........until he goes elsewhere then leafs didn't want him. Same old story.

Realistically I think you would have to include JVR in any Fowler trade but,,,Ana would definatly have to add to that.

I haven't seen enough of Lindholm but I do know that JVR is a 1st line winger. He's also the only 1st line forward the Leafs have.

Sorry fellow Leaf fans. I'm not counting Matthews(maybe in a year or two), and I'm not counting Marner(maybe in two years or three) and I'm not counting Connor Brown(possibly this year) and I'm not counting Nylander as I expect him to top out as a high scoring 2nd liner which is still amazing.

I love all those kids I mentioned but they aren't 1st line NHL'ers. I guess, think about it this way, Eichel wasn't even Buffalo's 1st line center and they are Buffalo! In another year or two, Eichel will be an elite center. Takes time. I'd keep JVR, but like I said, I haven't seen enough of Lindholm. If he's a proven legit top pairing D with two way skills(equal to or better than Rielly's near potential) than I will pay for JVR's plane ticket myself. Otherwise...insulate the rookies up front. Rielly was already thrown to the wolves last year by playing 1st pairing with 6th-7th defenders. He'll be fine.

Long story short. I don't know.

I consider Lumpy to be a top 10 dman in the league. And by saying that, I am not saying he 'will be' he already is.

I hope he is asking for Ekblad money and that Anaheim deals him. I can actually see it happening.

If he is put on the block, he will net a tremendous return. JVR ++++ type of deal. If the Leafs don't do it, some other team will give up a huge number of assets for Lumpy. This kid is that good.

Fowler on the other hand....simply overrated. A solid second pairing dman at best, and doesn't deserve all of the time the Anaheim has been giving him on their power play.

JVR/1st + prolly for Lindholm
JVR/2nd for Fowler/Ritchie maybe

Lindholm/Reilly a very dynamic 1st pairing
Fowler & Gardiner would be a nice 2nd pairing

Fowler prolly makes more sense for the price.

I'm sure the Bruins are also a front runner.
