Reporter: I'm being told they will not touch him, and they will let him climb to the top... *3 seconds later* Yup, and they've grabbed him now, and are pulling him into the building.
they need to shed cap space though, probably a replacement plan for them either moving Coburn or Garrison.
but I have a feeling the move is going to be signing Seidenberg to a PTO (plays right side even though hes a lefty) - DDM-Coga
I'm thinking the best play is to talk to Detroit about a Dman. Their roster has Kronwall, DeKeyser, Ericsson, Green, Smith, and Marchenko and they have Ouellet, Sproul, and maybe Russo pushing for a spot. The former two need to go through waivers so either they move one of their 6 NHLers or one of them goes through waivers (though they could keep 8 on their roster). No one's taking on Ericsson's contract and Smith is their only real snarl on the backend.
Alternatively, they could grab Quincey. Detroit has run mostly LHD for a while so I wouldn't be surprised if he's played some right side.

Would Ericsson or Quincey be much of an upgrade over playing Nurse on the bottom pair off side?

Florida has Ekbland, Demers, Pysyk, Petrovic, as righties too. That Petrovic didn't have bad numbers 17pts in 66 games but not the greatest fancy stats.

But (frank) the panthers. - DDM-Coga
I would not be opposed to Petrovic at all. Edmonton born and big and nasty.
(frank) his fancy stats. Kid is young and he'd likely be playing bottom pairing anyway. I'd just as soon have as much competition for roster spots as not. Make players like Nurse and Oesterle earn it.
Wonder if they'd do Yak for Petrovic straight up?

And yes, (frank) the Panthers. - Wildschwein
Rather not. Gryba for free is better than Petrovic for Yak.

I'd have no problem with Gryba coming back. I'm actually a bit surprised he hasn't been signed already since he has a bit of a history will Chia (and seems to fit the mould Chia prefers). Perhaps he hasn't recovered as hoped from last seasons surgery?
