You clearly don't know the player or the team so beat it - CanuckDon
I know a lot about Gudbranson. Watch a lot of their games being on the east coast. While you guys are at work, I'm watching the east coast teams.
How do you get to watch Gudbranson anyway? You'd be working no? |

That's where you are better evaluating your own team and not trying to act like you know the Canucks .
For years they have been bullied. Goalies have gotten hacked and whacked with no retaliation. There was never a fear of payback from the opposition which lead to multiple chances by the other team. - VANTEL
Bieksa was a good guy to have in his prime and was pretty tough, I think Gud will be a good fit. IMO |

Bieksa was ok, just don't mention that if Bonner Buckis in here. Bieksa was a middle weight though |

Bo+Subban+ 2017+2018 first rounders for Subban, wow could you imagine how the board would of lit up. If true has me curious what philly prospect Benning wanted for next years first. |

I think that's a fallacy and an outdated view on the game. I'm not a stats lover, nor do I understand the graphs most bloggers use, but I don't believe in this taking liberties idea. If your PP is top 5 (ish) in the league let them whack away.
The current Stanley Cup Champions, don't have anyone to scare people. Trevor Daley or Eric Fehr would be their 'tough' guys.
They beat San Jose in the final. Who on San Jose is coming after you?
What about the conference finalists? Tampa. Are you going to worry about retaliation from Paquette or Brown? Probably not.
Still, they made it far.
The Blues and Ducks can handle themselves but sacrifice that for offensive talent, thus never living up to people's predictions of them.
You don't need tough guys. Tough players in the sense of work ethic and commitment (never say die attitude) but fighters and retaliators? Meh.
Take a punch, get yourself on the PP and put the game away.
Don't get me wrong, it was fun as (frank) watching Orr, McLaren, Mike Brown and Mark Fraser knock ten bells of poop out of the opposition game in, game out, but it didn't solve a thing. - walshyleafsfan
I stopped reading this crap after a few lines...given you appear to be clueless, EG wasn't brought into be a fighter...but carry on and keep wasting your time |

How are you qualified to judge how he does in a different market, division, team? Then project his future at a relatively young age for a defenceman? |

Nope. According to Sens fans, I was Spatso for a while.
Is CanuckDon, Roger Roper? |

I would suggest to reserve judgement until you actually see him play a few games, or at least training camp. Is that fair? |

That's fair. As long as you guys do the same.
He'll have to up his game quite a bit though to justify that trade I'd say.
I remember that you guys where very high on McCann. Part of the future core with JV, Demko, BB and a couple of others if I recall. |

And McCann will be a top 6 forward this season. Keep us posted, you watch and know way more than we do.

I think I would be more disappointed losing Zalewski over Grenier at this point. Either one I would be stoked to have as our 13th forward, assuming of course that they outplay the waiver eligible guys.
I'm excited for Rodin and pulling for him to bounce back but if he is healthy and can't win a spot, I'm not going to worry about losing him on waivers. - belcherbd
I'm a bit torn on this. If they scouted him and think he has what it takes, I wouldn't be in a rush to waive him if we could waive an alternate 4th liner.
Some guys don't look good in preseason and like they belong in the regular season.
I guess it depends what the team sees and knows too.
If JV starts in Utica, and Grenier can bring a consistent effort, hit on the fore check, I can't see how you send Grenier to Utica. was I thinking the same thing about Grenier a year ago?
When I think of these guys playing for roster spots I think preseason could have some good battles but they seldom play out. |
