Bruins have an open spot next to Bergeron and Marchand.
B's just signed his best buddy Gryz.
B's are infusing lots of young talent around Vesey age
Boston is his home

837 games isn't enough time to judge the 3? - homiedclown
not sure why the ennis hate...hit the 20-goal mark three times and was on pace for another one until he went down with an injury...plus he has eight points in 13 playoff games including an overtime game-winner at philadelphia |

not a hate, he played more reckless than max last year, and unlike max was not buried on the 4th line with slow and molasses as his line mates

if they want the other team to eat the full contract of nash, something along that line goes back IMO
other option is ennis, and two 3rd rd picks and rangers eat half the contract |

max hasn't played in buffalo since 2009...and the big problem with him is that he never went to the net despite having nhl size...ennis' kahuna's are so much bigger than max's despite being much smaller

dime a dozen player then, not worth tying up 10 mil in the 3?
yes or no - homiedclown
I'd be fine with it. That basically give Foligno and Girgs 2.5 each. They're 3rd/4th line guys who can play a wing with a good center if needed, although only for a short while at best.
I like them as long as they're used correctly. If required to carry a team or play positions or styles that don't use their talents correctly I'd rather use them as a way to bring in someone else, even if it's just a lateral move for a different skill set. |

Don't agree with infusion of talent - Sweeney is a mess of a GM and Boston is going down before they come back up. He's not signing in Boston. I'm worried about CHI and PIT |

Which they'd never do since Ennis+half of nash's contract is a higher cap hit then what they already have.
If you want a discounted trade on Nash you have to take the full salary back and give them hardly any. So something around prospects/picks.
Edit: Id do it. His cap hit is high, but it comes off the books at the right time. |

I'd still be worried about Boston. I agree they aren't going straight up this year but within the length of his ELC I see them being better than they currently are. I also think the draw of the hometown is still large. The kid is the same age as I am and I know where I would go is home. |

Ennis played as poorly as anyone in the first parts of the season. I chalk a lot of that up to new system and new players near him. I also call it a bit of the Nolan hangover.
If Ennis is on the team come October I'd expect the first month to still have the same problem. It's after that he can contribute. He needs to find where he fits in Bylsma's system and roster. He's also seemed to be a player that likes the puck on his stick and if he thinks he has a chance to do things himself he will. That's something I remember seeing last year as well.
If he's here I'll be happy. If we trade him for another good player I'll also be happy. I just wouldn't be okay with trading him for picks at this current point in time which I haven't seen many people even bring up anyways.
I'll hang up and listen. |

I don't think they need to dump him anymore. Kreider, Hayes, and JT Miller all signed for less than expected. |

This year it looks like they'll have 3M in cap space. Next year Zibanejad, Glass, Fast, Lindberg, Gerbe, Jooris, McIlrath, Clendening are their free agents as well as, of course, some guys in minors.
NYR are in okay shape capwise IMO. If anything they can keep Nash until next season and unload him with 1 year left on his deal.
I agree, the sale might be over. |

What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! |

14-23-37 last year if we're talking about the same guy. Not sure I'd give anything real up for him. I would expect Ennis to at least put up those numbers. He's young, though, so there's that.
I still say go for Pirri. 11-13-24 in 52 and 24 in 49 the year before. Cheap contract, 2 year deal, if it works then great, if not he's on the 3rd line and putting up 20-30 points. I could live with that. |

Gonna have to be careful who we do trade for . We are gonna have a few larger contracts coming up to re-sign in 2yrs. Yes we will have some coming off, but need to replace them too with equal or better talent. |

i dont think hes going anywhere. too many questions. 4.6m is not nothing. im not retaining salary on him just to get him out. plus with kane strolling down jackass lane all too frequently, we could use a potential top 6 winger on short notice. are we retaining salaries on any contracts for next season, i know we can only retain on 3?

Through it all the Sabres were able to finish 8th in the league last season with one of the youngest teams in the league
Having a better record than 7 teams is not the same as finishing 8th in a 30 team league... |

The hope is you replace them with your superior drafting talent. Bailey, Nylander, Fasching and hopefully going to replace the Kane, Moulson, and Gionta type players that will leave in the next 2 years. Honestly I'd almost do the switch now if we could. Giving them that time to marinate in the AHL hopefully works out well but it's never a guarantee with prospects. |
