Sam does get love. He's great. Let's look at his season last year. Rode shotgun with ROR, then shotgun with Eichel. Went 23-19-42 in his rookie year. Sam really, in my eyes, found his stride as the year went on which was expected.

Let's look more at how Sam got his goals. Looking at his heatmap you can see that 7 of his goals were within 5 feet of the crease. I don't project Sam to be the Andreychuk of the future so how often is he going to keep going to the net? Is that his major skill set? Maybe not in the sense of me when I played hockey where as soon as we're in the zone I went to the front of the net but maybe he's the player that sees that part of the ice is open and sneaks into it waiting for the pass. We talk about him being amazingly smart in hockey IQ so that's more what I'd expect from his game.

Sam's shots are also very concentrated in the front of the net. It's a good sign that he can find that area of the ice and get shots off in the high percentage slots. Sam gets the love, he's just not the flashy player Eichel is.

Yeah, he doesn't "go to the net" he just ends up near the net when the puck is there. He just knows where the puck is going to end up, sneaks in and puts it in the backdoor(you're welcome perverts).

Disagree. Hes not going to be under a microscope in Chicago or NY. Buffalo is all about hockey and will count on Vesey to perform if he comes here. When he goes to Chicago he will simply be a complimentary player.

The retired players and coaches that are here were either goons or players that never made much money in the league. This is a different era. If vesey is pans out to anywhere near the hype, he will have no issues with money and will certainly not be forced to retire here because he cant afford to live elsewhere
