Tanev supporters... where's he on this list? Why isn't he in the top 20 if he's so good...

Because math, is the reason to why Tanev is not on the list. Let's call the 30 best defenceman the number 1 guys and the next 30 the number 2 guys.

Tanev is a solid number 2 guy. Which puts him around number 40 to 30 in the NHL.

Not top 20 and I'd even put edler around the same spot due to his offence.

They are both top 60 defenseman in the nhl which means top two defenceman.

He is good. Real good at what he does. But without the offence, how could he be rated higher than those 20. Pretty nice list. I'd have OEL and Carlson higher for sure.

Edler ? Not a chance anymore ...his offence is no where close to where it used to be .... He is declining but still very serviceable

Technically the best 30 defenceman in the nhl are the #1 defenceman, the next 30 are the #2 and on and on.

There are only a handful of franchise defenceman who can play with a three or four and make them look like a two.
