I can look at it any way I want. You have been looking at it as everything going wrong. That absolutely won't happen.
I can promise you that
Weber and Bartowski won't have a horrible year for Canucks
I can promise Higgins and Prust won't be sent down to Utica
I can promise Vrbata won't drop from 31 goals to 12 while wearing a Canuck jersey.
I would be willing to bet that Bo Jake Sven and Etem score more than 9 goals combined after 30 games.
You can believe the sky is falling as much as you want but I don't believe it for one second - VANTEL
I don't believe the sky is falling ...I believe they have good prospects and young players ...but I don't buy into everything is on the upswing right now and they will be so much better this year ...when's the last time the Canucks backend wasn't riddled with injuries ...you think a bunch of kids and fringe NHL d men can hold the fort if one or both of tanev edler go down ? I think if tree can pull a good season and one more rookie impresses back there then next season have more optimism

The Canucks might get 10 more points this season but by no way are they improving 10 spots in the western conference. No way. |

In two of the past three years the Canucks have had so-called "off-years". Yes the roster has changed significantly from the Tortorella year but it has more youth/question marks now. No one can tell me we've just had poor years for any other reason than the team was aging, without much talent and simply poorly constructed with nothing for a prospect pool.
I don't believe for a second, over an 82 game schedule, the team is heads and shoulders better than they were last year, but they are better. Marginally!
That being said, building takes time! Bennng can't fix the Nonis & Gillis years in 24 months, this is going to take some four or five years of building to turn around...BUT...I certainly like the direction of the team with all the youth Benning has brought in.
I don't remember the last time the Canucks had so many decent young kids pushing for jobs. Horvat, Baertschi, Virtanen, Hutton, Tryamkin, Gudbranson, Demko, etc. will all make this team better this year and in the coming years. |

Agree....they'd have to have a few other teams planes to fall outta the sky for that to happen.
To move from 28th to 15th they'd need around 20 more points, I'm sorry but for a team that's poorly coached and gave up 243 goals against, that's near impossible playing the majority of games against western teams. |

You have the right attitude lefty ...if I'm a Canucks fan I'm hopeful the kids that I want to be there make the team and have good developing years ...Vantel thinks I'm all doom and gloom but I am not ...I just see this team for what they appear from the outside ...not ready to make a huge jump yet but building and adding good young pieces and draft picks

You make a comment with bigoted undertones and then don't bother defending it. Your code speak doesn't really fool anyone...
And that president no cup troll just shows he accepts that kind of thing. - kaptaan
You sir, clearly have little to no understanding of the semantics of the English language. The nuances just seem to drift gently over your skull, missing that part of your brain responsible for rational thinking.
Let me explain it for you in a manner that is simple enough for you to understand.
By "most people arn't local" he means that the majority of people living in various parts of the city are not residing in what could be called there ancestral homes. I live close to the home I grew up in therefore I am"local" my neighbour moved here from India 20 years ago and is very nice. He is still not a local to me.
Anyways for you to have sent me a pm calling me a bigot is in very poor taste and prejudicial.
I don't know how you can be so intolerant of people's opinions and beliefs. Most poor drivers serious where I live are from cities (we call them cidiot's) or have Alberta plates. Neither of those demographics would be considered local.
So just stop before you end up sounding like an idiot.
Respectfully please stfu |

That I can agree with. If everything goes right they're a bubble team, if things go very wrong they're a lottery team. They'll probably be picking 8th-12th. |

We missed they playoffs last year by 12 points ( 6 regulation wins) . How many third period collapses did we have and give up the lead late in the game. That was with a terrible injured DCore.
Benning never made one move at TDL Last year to secure a high draft pick.
If Larsen doesn't make the team then Tryamkin will be bottom pair RHD and maybe or Stecher.
This team this year is made up of if you are not doing your job someone will step in and replace you |

Still so many question marks so I can't say this guys better than that guy kinda scenarios. I agree the team is better, having Sutter will be a huge help for defensive match ups and free up Horvat's offensive game.
I don't know if Larsen is better than Weber, to be honest Weber's issues to me were more defensively than offensively. The kid was so soft and easy to play against it was pathetic. I'm guessing but I'd say you don't know enough about Larsens game, like me, to come out and say that.
And Gudbranson, why would you compare him against a #7 dman like Biega? He's replacing Hamhuis. Is he that much better than Hamhuis, I don't think so if you look at his entire game, but he is way more physical and that's what they desperately needed. |
