Youd think that someone with their own source would know the situation better. It's truly unbelievable that this topic has been talked to death, and yet the people invested the most it don't have a clue what is going on.

I think we have a small number of teams that I think we'll really be focusing on," Vesey told NHL.com on July 7. "So, Aug. 15 we'll start talking to them and see what they say."

Maybe next time you shoot your mouth off and try to correct others, you'll have your poop straightened out and know what the (frank) you're talking about.

According to the CBA:
8.6 Reserve List-Exclusive Rights
(c) College Players.
(ii) If a Player drafted at age 18 or 19 is a bona fide college student at the time
of his selection in the Entry Draft, or becomes a bona fide college student
prior to the first June 1 following his selection in the Entry Draft, and does
not remain a bona fide college student through the graduation of his
college class, his drafting Club shall retain exclusive rights for the
negotiation of his services until the later of: (a) the fourth June 1 following
his selection in the Entry Draft, or (b) thirty (30) days after NHL Central
Registry receives notice that the Player is no longer a bona fide college
student; provided that if the Player ceases to be a bona fide college student
on or after January 1 of an academic year and the Player: (1) is in his
fourth year of college and has commenced his fourth year of NCAA
eligibility, or (2) is in his fourth year of college and is scheduled to
graduate from college at the end of his fourth year, then in the
circumstances described in (1) or (2), the Club shall retain the exclusive
right of negotiation for such Player's services through and including the
August 15
following the date on which he ceases to be a bona fide college
student. The Club need not make a Bona Fide Offer to such Player to
retain such rights.

So I guess the countdown will end on Monday night at midnight.

I guess that's what is causing confusion, but I don't think what Vesey's camp is saying supersedes the CBA.

I would think that they and any team wanting to talk to them would know when they can, well before a hockeybuzz poster does.

OH eh? I think veseys camp knows the rules full well. If they say they're talking to teams that are interested on the 15th then they're talking to teams on the 15th.

What does your source have to say on that?

It either is or it isn't. If he says he's talking to teams in the 15th then he's talking to teams on the 15th, no?

“In our opinion, the only thing that has happened is now the Sabres have stepped into the shoes of Nashville for exclusive rights [to negotiate] until Aug. 15,” Donatelli told McDonald. “However, at this time, it doesn’t change Jimmy Vesey’s intention to become a free agent on Aug. 15.”

"Murray lost out on Steven Stamkos in June. Murray was prepared to sign the then pending UFA Stamkos to an seven year, $77 million contract. In the end, Stamkos got cold feet a stayed in Tampa for $8.5 million per season. His loss."

Really garth? , Stamkos's loss?

Let's check the facts here

1. Maybe your right about the Money that was offered by buffalo but let's be honest here there were not the only team willing to give him max money and max years and if if was about making more Money then why didn't he sign with Toronto were he could have made a killing with endorsements with Canadian tire ceo on board

2 . Sorry garth but the sabres are no closer to pushing for the cup then they were last year, one if not the biggest reason he reuped with the bolts
