This is not about Vesey being JVR today....and he may not ever be JVR...but this is an opportunity to bring in a Need, when it comes to Defensmen. Trouba, still is not signed...and his situation becomes more and more intriguing as each day goes on. Jets need a Top 6 LW, and Cheveldayoff loves Big Players.

Most leafs fans think rielly has #1 potential and if that's the case the the leafs only need a #2 to play with him. If you look around the league most number 2s are home grown mid round picka. Leafs have Nielsen dermott Valiev zaitsev who could all turn into something. Just gotta be patient. Leafs aren't going to be competing for a cup for the next few years anyways.

I just think the Leafs need to bring in another young, top 4 Dman, to build around....along with Rielly. And the Leafs have a ton of forwards.....and if Jets are struggling to re-sign Trouba, the Leafs should nr knocking on their door.
I would not be surprised, if Lou has called the Jets.

The jets have a big buff winning window and the prospect pool to make it a reality. Trouba should get paid for the role he should be playing jets can't afford that.

I agree. I really Like dermott.
JVR can fetch u a lot, given his generous contract term and $$$.

Leafs can protect their 1st round pick. JVR would need to be in the deal...and a prospect.
At the end of the day, if Winnipeg can't sign Trouba, then they have no choice but to move him.
You need that one other D-Man to build with Rielly. Both guys are 22....so it's perfect, from a growing together perspective.
