Now, that comment about the Hobey Baker winners from the past amounting to nothing. That’s a bit harsh up until two years ago (2014) Johnny Gaudreau won the award. Last year it was Jack Eichel, and Vesey was a nominee. Seems to me, there has been a run off some success as of late with the award winners. Gaudreau is an absolute stud, likely the best forward on Calgary, and same goes for Eichel being the best player on Buffalo.

Our vendors couldn't even give the tickets away. I live a 10min walk from the Rogers Centre so I went twice. The sight lines and atmosphere were pathetic.

he's certainly been banged up quite a bit.

but I'd hate to trade him and he just goes 65+ for next 5 seasons

they will likely decide this season what they are going to do with him, and where we are at right now - no rush.

If they do land him, I'm glad it has to be the one year deal. (That's correct right? Then an extension would be the following summer?)

Reason being so that if and when he is very unspectacular, he just goes bye bye and it's in a year where I fully expect the Leafs to not improve by more than 5 spots in the standings.
