Ryan Miller, Paul Kariya and Neal Broten were also Baker winners - weren't bad NHLers. Of course Vancouver only got the twilight years from Miller. Very few talented US College players like Patrick Kane, Mike Modano - stay in the US - because of the better competition offered in Canadian Minor Hockey. Vesey may be an exception, not sure - we'll see.

What little I saw of Hyman - thought he was decent. You are probably right that on a good team - neither is in the top six. That said - getting an asset that is perceived as a middle first round caliber talent for only money - is worth a gamble - otherwise no team would be interested. If the Leafs land him surely he will be better than Biggs.

Hyman and Sosh are going to have to wait for Lupul to get injured and then Michalek to get injured.

Greening, Holland are healthy scratches or AHL bound.

There needs to be a few moves to get rid of some players but I don't see Lupul, Michalek, Holland, Greening getting moved out before TDD, if at all.

My preferred line up

JVR, Kadri, Brown
Komarov, Bozak, Nylander
Rychel, Matthews, Marner
Hyman, Laich, Sosh

The 3rd line....let an all rookie line get to know each other, especially one that seems to have all the same pieces as the Knights line last year.

The 4th line...get Hyman and Sosh in the line up playing with a hard working veteran on a 4th line that isn't a poop line. Let them play as a regular line with a bit more ice time than 4 mins a night so when/if we do move JVR both are seasoned along with Rychel.

Get rid of Bozak at the TDD and move Nylander in the middle and push up whoever is better between Sosh and Hyman.
