Tell vessey he's the new replacement for jvr going forward and intice him that much more, the kid wants minutes.
Management is not doing there job unless there trying to do everything in there power trading for trouba. Jvr is a good start to a package to get that guy out of the peg. Get it done before the worlds sign him to an identical contract to Reilly and leafs nation will be on there best behaviour for one more loosing season. |

Toronto has worked hard to change its culture to one of accountability and earning your ice-time. For the Leafs to promise this kid anything in their pitch would ruin all that.
If Vesey is asking for ice-time and to crack the NHL roster without any merit, he should (frank) off and the Leafs should be focusing their time and effort and money elsewhere.
My 2 cents. - AustonPowers
This is correct. It won't happen if he's demanding/expecting to walk into a top 6 or even 9 role. I don't know all the rules but expect he gets a two way contract and earns (or not) a spot on the roster in training camp like everyone else. The Leafs have too much talent pushing for a spot and no way Babs or Shanny give preferential treatment to an unproven minor leaguer. |

Seeing as Ehlers is the top of there LW depth chart and there one left handed puck mover on the back end away from creating a scary competitive team, jvr would be a great start. Throw in a Marincin or Carrick and maybe take back a Stewart and that huchinson fellow, true north might budge. |

I know you said you weren't bitter on Stamkos, but it certainly read that way. Haha.
He's a high-character guy. I give him a lot of credit for wanting to stay with the organization he came up with and helped put on the map.
Have to respect a guy that doesn't want to sign somewhere simply for money (don't get me wrong, he got big bucks from Tampa, but could have gotten more in TOR), or to become the face for a product and have his image stamped throughout the country in various advertisements.
Kind of refreshing to know there's still some guys out there who don't want the lime light and to be under the microscope.
I've heard he's a private guy and is happy he can go to a lot of places in Tampa and not be recognized. He'd be mobbed in Toronto, I bet. - Hank3Henshaw
Lightning were on the map before Stamkos. Remember 2004?

Vessy is not important, a right handed d man that can grow with Morgan on the top line is all that matters if this rebuild has any validity. |

I do agree that is the biggest need for the Leafs going forward but I don't think it will be addressed this off season. |
