Can't wait forever its a lot easier to plug in young forwards then defence. As much as I like the direction of this rebuild the lack of a top righty in the young core is going to stall success. The expansion draft is a factor this season when it comes to trades and the leafs are in a position to be aggressive, trouba and to a lesser extent dumba, sadly parenko is out of the question.

So here is my question...does anybody think that the Leafs could be pursuing Jacob Trouba, of the Jets? And bringing in Vesey (LW) could then allow the Leafs to trade JVR, along with a young forward and a D-Man, in exchange for the 22 year old Right Handed Defensmen?

This is not about Vesey being JVR today....and he may not ever be JVR...but this is an opportunity to bring in a Need, when it comes to Defensmen. Trouba, still is not signed...and his situation becomes more and more intriguing as each day goes on. Jets need a Top 6 LW, and Cheveldayoff loves Big Players.

Jets wont move trouba. Especially not for JVR. Teams dont move young defensemen of that caliber for scoring wingers.

TOR has about as much of a chance signing Vesey as Nashville. And his brother, a lesser talent, probably plays his full 4 years in college and signs elsewhere. Rumor is vesey's dad already has a scouting gig set up with buffalo, covering the new England area, bis home town
