Curious as to why you say that?...at best bottom 6 player.
Are you saying that 8 out of 8 GMs are wrong in their team's assessment of his talent level? - IonSabres
Kid has never played in the NHL and he wants top 6 minutes, take a step back JR and earn your minutes. He wants top 6 minutes and to play for a winner also get paid, what have you done in the NHL as of now to show that you deserve that. |

Has he said he wants top six minutes. He refused to sign with two teams that offered that. |

i don't blame him for what he is doing. and i don't think he is making a big deal of it, he has actually been quite quit and just done what he needed to do. it's the media that is doing this. - IndianaSabresFan
Yeah, and meanwhile the kid is gonna get booed (wow, no squiggly red line on that word??) everywhere he goes. |

I don't think he will. After all, he isn't making a spectacle of himself. Everyone else is doing that. |

I'm going to Philly & AC next weekend
Any other advice on where to go? Things to do?
We are going to Morimoto one night for dinner - jdfitz77
the liberty bell was awesome...
plant your feet in rocky's chuck taylor imprints at the art museum with the theme in your head as you look out over philly (note: some local "entrepreneurs" will take your picture for a few bucks)
if you're a Three Stooges fan there's the Stoogeum about 45 mins north of philly...hours are very limited so check the website...

Like I said 10 times before, if this was all about Eichel and top 6 minutes this circus act would be done by now. Sabres have met with 2 times and talked again as well, he knows what the Sabres are offering him. |

it could start to happen.. it will also require them to play out their entire college career and miss out on making money for one, two or three more years.. most the top players go pro before they graduate |

a lot of pressure to perform in his hometown as well...pressure in Toronto too...chi and pitt offer plenty of cover for him and with the sabres he'd be yet another younger vet added to the mix |

Not saying he's wrong for doing it because as the rules stand he has every right to. But i wonder if owners well lobby for something to change in the rules in light of this situation. |

Only change I'd like to see is the stupid date that it happens...They should make it maybe July 1 like the rest of the FAs, so there's less scrutiny |

Like I said last week, prima donna - SABRES 89
Why? Because he said no to the Sabres? There's nothing wrong with trying to maximize his situation. The kid decided to get a Harvard degree which gave hike the opportunity to try free agency. Nothing wrong with that and nothing wrong with choosing where you want to play. |

This. Most kids can't wait to get out and get paid. Vesey happened to be a late bloomer and everything aligned where it is going to work out best fo him to become a Free Agent. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

A lot of people are and it baffles me.
He didn't trade his own rights to Buffalo. He has 0 obligation to us.
He wants to pick where he plays. If he became a FA July 1st, no one would be paying attention. We'd be talking about Okposo. Blame the league.
Not saying you are bashing him but it's just funny how a team can choose to trade a kid who's family might be settled in an area, yet someone wants to choose where they play and they are the bad guy? |

They'd have to negotiate it it's the players association. But really what's the big deal? Vesey didn't sign with Nashville after 4 years and Nashville got their pick back from Buffalo. Vesey might become a good NHL player but this isn't such a big deal. The destiny and fortunes of franchises won't be changed... |

There's nothing wrong with a rule that allows kids to finish school. Teams get rights for four years. That's enough. |
