He is not only an All-Star.... But the MVP Of the All-Star game!! - CoHo_to_B-Lo
a 3rd line of Scott/Girgensons and your pick of Leino, CoHo or Conachar on RW.
But not Ott, as he's a center.

So all we could say is that, where did he get money to do that? He has no money from NHL yet (and no contract showing salary to get approved from banks), so this is weird. Also, would think he should be focused on picking NHL team before buying a condo, but what do I know. - Lilroot9
First thing I thought. Considering the prices in NYC, it wouldn't surprise me if something like this is $2M plus. Not sure where his money is coming from to make that kind of investment, especially considering his NHL contract will be limited at first. But again.......who knows. |

On Vesey per an EK source
"There are many better and younger players out there already. Look at Winnipeg and Chicago alone...On Winnipeg you have: Roslovic, Connor, Lemieux DeLeo and Petan....And that's not including Ehlers, Laine and Dano...All better than Vesey That's 8 forwards, all younger and better...All of those guys could get 53 points or more as 22-23 yr old in the ECAC. And Joel Armia is the same age....and on Chicago...there are Hinostroza, Schmaltz, Motte and Hartman. All better with none of the hype."
We may have made a terrible mistake. |

It would be a good investment and he could probably borrow against his first contract by now. |

#Sources say Vesey bought a condo in NYC with Kevin Hayes
Anyone know anything about this guy and what the chances are of his information being correct?
He follows up that tweet saying that he hoped his source is wrong and that he isn't the most plugged in guy, but says this is the info he got.
Sounds a little out there to me, but who knows. Seems like if that has actually happened, more media would have it already. But then again, someone on TwoBillsDrive started hearing about the Dareus suspension 2 days before it actually came out.
Just passing along something new to talk about. Hopefully it is false. - sven233
Ostrander is a good follow on Twitter but not because he is in the know. He spends most of his time bagging on the Sabres for not doing a bobble head night or ripping into the teams tweets or lack there of tweets.
Just a blogger not a source at all.

He did not sign a contract yet, so that does not make sense. |

Which would make sense if Vesey was better than Marner and Nylander. - Canada Cup
He isnt going to sign there just to be placed in the AHL. If hes signed, hes taking a rookie spot from someone |

In NYC it is not unheard of for lenders to make "non-recourse" loans that only look to the value of the property in deciding whether to make the loan. He has a co-signer who is a multimillionaire, and he's two weeks away from signing a contract for more than a million bucks himself.
His agent could find that loan in 25 minutes. |

he's not a difference maker - homiedclown
And? He's a complementary piece and he's getting paid like it. He makes 4.6, has a career p/g of .61, can play wing or center, and has hit the 20 goal mark 3 times in his short career. He's not being asked to carry this team, no one is expecting him to be the all-star. He's a good player with a decent contract that is being asked to play wing and put up some points.
I don't see us having a suitable replacement at the moment seeing as we'd be replacing the unknown of his health with the unknown of a rookie most likely. If he comes back and scores 15 goals on the 3rd line that's basically adding a 15 goal scorer for free since we barely had him at all last year. If he comes and plays on the top 6 that's fine too.
I just don't see the dislike. He's small, he's gotten hurt, he's not going to put up 80 points. That doesn't mean we have to throw him away especially for the peanuts we'd get for him at this point.
Edit: Don't want to seem combative, I just don't get why we'd want to move on from him when we have little to lose and a good player to gain if he plays here this year. |

exactly, you say what you have to say to get him signed, then he has to put up or shut up.
Thats how the Rangers signed Hayes away from the Avs (apparently he agreed to sign there first but Avs would only guarantee him a shot at winning a Top 9 role at camp, Rangers came in and guaranteed him a spot out of the gate) |

I'm not so sure Hayes would've made the team out of training camp if Stepan didn't break his leg in preseason.
But yea, say what you need to to make it official. After that, he's stuck. |

He can still get sent down. Just means he gets paid the same in the AHL. |

2 way deal only means he gets paid differently if he is sent down to the AHL. Whether or not he has to pass through waivers depends on his age and NHL experience.
