And? He's a complementary piece and he's getting paid like it. He makes 4.6, has a career p/g of .61, can play wing or center, and has hit the 20 goal mark 3 times in his short career. He's not being asked to carry this team, no one is expecting him to be the all-star. He's a good player with a decent contract that is being asked to play wing and put up some points.
I don't see us having a suitable replacement at the moment seeing as we'd be replacing the unknown of his health with the unknown of a rookie most likely. If he comes back and scores 15 goals on the 3rd line that's basically adding a 15 goal scorer for free since we barely had him at all last year. If he comes and plays on the top 6 that's fine too.
I just don't see the dislike. He's small, he's gotten hurt, he's not going to put up 80 points. That doesn't mean we have to throw him away especially for the peanuts we'd get for him at this point. - Zschalberg
it's a cap era
I don't want a kid who got paid, and came in out of shape to be anywhere near eichel, risto and reinhart
could he prove me wrong, yes
but we have seen a large enough sample size for the ennis, folignos and girgens over the years
it's a cap era
no cap, no problem
but reality is the sabres need to surround themselves with 8 quality players getting paid and vets on the cheap and kids
when you pay eichel, risto and sam, there will be no room for 4.6 mil dollar side shows |

2 way deal only means he gets paid differently if he is sent down to the AHL. Whether or not he has to pass through waivers depends on his age and NHL experience.
Nice username BTW - rangerdanger94
So who here knows the CBA enough to say if he would need waivers? That's a lot of reading to look that up and I don't care enough to do it. |

It's not like his 4.6 is stopping us from chasing the big free agent and it's not like he isn't scoring at all with that contract. If I recall he got the contract last year and he answered by putting up another 20 goal season and his 2nd highest point total of 46 points on a bad team. He then got almost .5 p/g on a team that had a lot of new variables before he got hurt.
He puts up numbers and isn't being a drain because of his contract. That player is Moulson. Until he's off the team Ennis shouldn't be criticized for his contract. Especially when Moulson had 10 more points in 4 times as many games as Ennis. |

Edit: Don't want to seem combative, I just don't get why we'd want to move on from him when we have little to lose and a good player to gain if he plays here this year. - Zschalberg
Once Girgs and Risto sign they will be up against the cap.
They will need to make dollar for dollar moves in order to improve the team throughout the year.
He is a prime candidate to get moved when moves need to be made. |

Yeah you're right, having a great goalie does nothing to improve the stats of a defenseman. |

Twitter buzz that Vesey is going to room with Hayes in Manhattan.
GARTH must be in the loop, because he has moved on from Vesey to blogging about some Italian-American kid in a similar situation as JV. |

Sorry, didn't see that. I saw the part about the 2 way but knew that only mattered with pay.
In that case, there's so little risk to signing this kid. |

And that's fine, I'm all for improving the team. But that's different than acting as though he doesn't contribute. Especially when you have players like Franson and Moulson on the team.
If he needs to go in a trade to make the team better I'm all for it and that goes with anyone. |

http://www.sportingcharts...-per-60-min-leaders/2015/
ennis put up 1.59 points per 60 minutes on top 2 lines
moulson put up 1.31 points per 60 minutes killing penalties and playing on the bottom 6

here is a thought, show up in shape and use your line mates
that would be a great place for ennis to start
it's not like he is 22 years old |

Where does this narrative come from???
He was on pace to score exactly the same number of points as his career average when he was injured by an illegal check to the back, and suffered a concusions on the boards. What conditioning could he do to avoid the penalty and to pad his head more effectively? |

Moulson's deal is a tough one to move unfortunately.
Franson's salary is lower than his cap hit. He will be a deadline move IMO.
Ennis has the best value of the three at the moment and that isn't saying much. |

Well yes infact you can play a more aggressive offensive style if your goalie is insane. Anyways I digress no one here cares about your love fest of the Rangers. |
