As Always I respectfully disagree - eichel, O'Reilly plane Moulsen were the main reason we got Okposo. Thus is similar - turbo044
You can say the same for the Hayes brothers as well, it's not all about Eichel, he's not basing his future on Eichel. |

Sorry 89 - I didn't see your follow-up blog. Agree completely in that context. His agent, fish, is also Eichel's agent. Small thing but still a thing - turbo044
I agree Eichel has some do do with it but not all about him. |

If he wasn't scared to move away, he should go to Edmonton.

I understand he wants to meet with teams but IMO, you know what you are getting with the Hawks and Pens and that is winning. Hawks have money issues it seems every year but find ways to get it done. All these actors, sports figures in New York that are tweeting for Vesey to come there IMO should have nothing to do with his decision. Vesey is going to go to a team that fits his plans for now and the future, a team on the rise or there already. |

If we get him great if not, we see what Ennis can do with a full year if he can stay healthy. |

Top 6, future plans for him and where the team is going, money in the future. Direction of the team. He's good friends with Kevin Hayes as well, I heard it's more then just Eichel just like it's more then just playing in Boston. - SABRES 89

Interesting read. My takeaway is that Vesey shot down Nashville because of the limited off ice opportunities. If he's into endorsements he's going to want to be in a big money city. Toronto, Boston, Chicago and New York Rangers are the real targets.
No way he's gonna pick Pittsburg, Buffalo, NJ or the Islanders. Just my opinion. |

He's not getting big money from the Hawks or the Rangers unless they dump players with bad contracts. The Sabres or the Leafs can pay him the most. |

He should worry about actually playing the games cause from what limited action I have seen he ain't getting major endorsement money. |

The only reason I want to see the Sabres get him is, he picked the Buffalo Sabres over big time Stanley Cup winning teams. |

Yes, but I think he's discussing marketing himself to these teams. I mean your spot on that he needs to perform to be marketable. But I think what everyone has just sort of dismissed is why did he really not want Nashville? It's a great town. Really good team and really good opportunity. Because in the hockey world it's nowhere. There are little off ice opportunities. |

There are maybe 10 players in the league who make 10% or more of their income from endorsements. They aren't second line wings. |

That's my point, unless your Crosby and maybe McDavid (who really doesn't have much yet) you don't make money by endorsements in the NHL.
It just doesn't happen due to the NFL, NBA and MLB.

We're in agreement.
There are other criteria that will affect his career far more significantly. |

Yes but those guys are earning real money. He'll be on an ELC. Any endorsement money is relatively significant. He's already turned himself from a fairly irrelevant 3rd round pick to this dog and pony show. Maybe he's got a marketing plan moving forward.
Toronto seems like the best market for endorsements. It's we're hockey players get the most attention... So that's my guess. I'm sure there are other factors involved but I think this is a biggie. I'm not arguing. It's just conjecture and guesswork. Only Jimmy knows the real score. |

not a lot on the list for next year, Brent Burns is set to be a FA next summer but I am sure the Sharks will sign him. Karl Alzner will be a UFA, same with Michael Stone, Del Zotto, Shattenkirk, Smid, and....Pronger |

incorrect - he didn't pick Nashville cuz it's too far from Boston. He'll get endorsements anywhere. Hus biggest upside is getting a lot of playing time on the wing with a great center. This leads to securing the bonus and getting a grrat 2nd contract. Whom can offer this and afford the 2nd contract. There's one team. |
