Someone in the top 4 right now would have to go in any deal for a top pair guy otherwise you end up putting someone like McCabe on the bottom pair which is no good for his development or you end up with the most expensive bottom pair in the NHL which is even worse.

The only way that would work is if we had a long-term contract that we could send back. Suter is the wrong age and his contract is too big.

Edit: If he retires early it'd be Minny's problem not ours (cap recapture) I think. Maybe they retain a bit. It would require a lot of work but thats one option.
