Went young with an emphasis on development while trying to match the low bar of Ryan's roster in terms of competition.
Smith(NSH)-Johnson or Killorn-Atkinson(CBJ)
Rakell(ANA)-Burmistrov(WPG)-Karlsson(SJ)
Martin(TOR)-Granland(MIN)-Ennis if Kane isn't available.
Roussel(DAL)-Sheahan(DET)-Rust(PIT)
Martinez(LA)-Demers assuming he is out performed by the young depth
Gelinas(COL)-TVR(CHI)
Orlov(WSH)-McIlrath(NYR)
Neuvirth(PHI)
Wedgewood take zajac if Johnson is not available
Subban, nestrisil, strome, Granland, rienhart, Martinook, Wotherspoon, Puempel, de la rose, Lindbohm - BrainSap
So your starting goalie is a pending UFA? Best of luck with that.

I think that it will be incredibly hard to build a fan base in Las Vegas, what with the demographic and plethora of other things to do, unless you can ice a competitive team right off the bat. If you want a cellar dweller for 3-4 years out of the gate, no one in LV will care at all after the initial 10 or so games. Granted, a lot of their fans will be visiting tourists, but for the sake of merchandise and brand sales, no team that has to compete with the strip can afford to be miserable to start off.
This is an incredibly ignorant opinion, im surprised it was you that said it. Outside of the tourist area of Las Vegas there is a very normal city with very normal people. They have been dying for any kind of a professional franchise. Yes I am sure the hotels and casinos will be comping tickets to guests but there will also be huge support from every day people just like Philly but probably not as stupid, present company excluded. |

If Las Vegas wins the draft lottery then getting Nolan Patrick, a 6'4" first line, Toews but bigger and a better scorer changes everything for them. They get a top 3'pick the year after and get a number 1dman then they are on the fast track. It could happen. |

Granted, I have not met a ton of people from Las Vegas personally. That said, I do have friends who know people from there, and the descriptions of the general area outside of the strip, and its inhabitants, is not your general hockey demographic and, from what I've gathered, Reno ain't so hot, either. I can't speak to the rest of the surrounding cities.
And there are a poopload of horrible people from Philadelphia. And Pittsburgh. And New York. And Boston. And Chicago. And Detroit. And every other major and minor metropolitan area. There are also an abundance of intelligent people in all of these locations who go largely unnoticed because good people do not generally make headlines. |

Wasn't it already established by HB concensus that 1 poopty fan represents the whole fan base?? There's no taking back now, ALL Flyers fans are bumholes (it was proven, agreed upon & the HB vote will stand!) |

Cullen resigned, 1 year, 1 mil.
So does that mean we are OUT on Vesey? Or am I just late and Vesey signed elsewhere |

Sens ARE protecting Cody Ceci.. They WILL lose Marc Methot |

I never said otherwise, your second paragraph, all I said was there is a lot more to Las Vegas than just the strip. Full of regular people that would love to have any major sports franchise and it's not important that it's not a place you would associate with hockey, neither was Arizona, neither was California and now both have thriving youth hockey. Not on the scale of anywhere in Canada but much more that they did. |

Vesey is waiting till Friday or Saturday to decide. I guess This means he didn't like our pitch. |

They still could fit both of them in, Cullen at 1 mil was almost as cheap as possible. But would need some more cap shenanigans. |

Rather have Cullen & a little cap room. Vesey isn't worth the cap room.
So happy to have Cullen back. Love that they kept the team together!!! |

Excellent resigning... wasnt a must sign but it once again provides huge strength at centre and allows some younger at wing to show what they got. Having everyone but Lovejoy back is massive. |

That being said... Vesey could still end up a pen.... you just never know. The pens can deal with bonus iffyness next year. |

It shouldn't effect anything. As I understand it, Pens might not even be able to use the full bonus cushion, they would have to construct a 23 man roster that went exactly to the cap plus Dupuis's full cap hit. All signing Vesey does is create one less spot for a waiver eligible forward like Wilson, Sundqvist, and maybe Sheary (not sure on him). |

That was my assumption, but all the cap sites have different totals. It did feel like an odd timing for Cullen's signing though. |

Bombulie did a good piece on our cap situation a while back. If you don't want to read the full article, I'd say the key points are:
1) That our cap space will basically be the difference between the highest 23 man roster they can make up to the cap plus Dupuis's cap hit minus our actual likely 22 man roster.
2) Cullen likely won't have a big enough cap hit to effect that number as his salary won't be much more than Sundqvist's and still won't push us over the limit. |
