he is a legit prospect but people thinking he is going to be an all star are crazy, he probably be a good 2nd liner.
- mauryballstein

That's a good thing though.

You get that without giving up an asset, it's no wonder teams are lining up.

That makes sense if it was for rookie of the year.
- yemrots

it makes sense for best player in college hockey, younger players in better divisions put up better numbers than vessey.

if the dude had already decided on a team and I think he has, Boston...what's the point in talking to other teams... he should know who plays on each team and where he'd most likely fit in .... nothing is guaranteed, 'hey kid you're gonna play on our first line' yea ok....

Not one person here is saying they wouldnt take him. Your comment makes no sense. My point is he is not a top 5 prospect and they hype is only because he is a free agent.

I think the only thing we know is that Vesey is the only one who knows what's really going on. We'll find out soon. At least it's a good mystery.

Connor did for sure. No argument here.

However when determining best player in a league, age should have no bearing.

Yes...now.

Also at the end of the season you idiot.

Connor had 11 more goals and 25 more points than him....as a rookie.

- yemrots

relax. i'm still trying to get the hang of the "now" thing.

my comments were to the guy saying top 5 prospect in the league. so i pointed out that he isnt even the best player in college hockey.

that's fair

I don't think it happens. Not sure I want it to, either.
- BINGO!

I know it probably won't, but it would be cool if it did--strictly for the fact that everyone thinks he's going to some big market.

It'll be lame when they announce that he signs with Boston. Like, big deal. Holding out and let a media storm build (granted, that's out of his control) only to sign somewhere it was predicted you would, rather then just hold out and sign with the team right away? That's why it'd be cool if he went somewhere unexpected.

This is some Lebron stuff, but the big difference with the Lebron circus was he is an established player in the league. Haha.

Your source who said he wouldn't get 20 goals in the AHL is wrong. Vesey will immediately become one of the top 5 prospects in the game. He's that good.

He'll be a Bruin. I am sure of it.

- Bruiniak

He might not even make the top 5 list of Leafs prospects if he were to sign here...

*sigh*

It works best on Hab fans.

Look for someone liking Weber more than PK and pounce!!!

Use to work on Leaf fans with Kessel but then he went an won that damn Stanley Cup....now silence!

He'd likely slot behind Matthews, Marner, Nylander but that's about it.

Vessey should do what any UFA should do. Sign with the team that has the best chance of winning a cup.

This close to home bs stinks unless he has a wife/kids/sick family member.

He is the next Justin Schultz. He may get his name on a Stanley Cup but it will be from the efforts of the other 22 guys on the team and nothing he does.

Actually, he should have signed with the team that drafted him and worked his way up.

I'm not even a Preds fan, but I believe in signing with the team that drafts you and working hard for the organization to be a team player.

Just kind of old school thinking, I guess.

Valid point. He has made himself look high maintenance through this process.

I think the only reason he has teams chasing him is because there's nothing to lose by signing him and he has no negotiation power.

I'm thinking Tyler Bozak 2.0 which is a decent player but a dime a dozen.

Hard to blame the kid for staying in School and getting a Havard degree.

Then...well if you just graduated and had the opportunity to wait a couple of months to become a UFA why wouldn't you?

It's a loophole in the CBA...it just fell into his lap.
Blame the CBA, blame the media for hyping this up, but pretty tough to lay any actual blame on him.
