Last two times I was at the arena were for the draft and a draft party. Living away from home now I don't get to see games.
It would be a disgrace if there were NO wings there, but they're probably in some place you just didn't get to...I can't picture them not being sold in the arena, that would be weird. - stashu
I was out of the country for this year, but I managed to get down to San Jose for their draft party last year and that was a blast. Lots of good beer and food, and they brought in guys like Nabakov, Ricchi, Marleau to meet folks and answer questions. Will also say that the Sharks play-by-play guy Randy Hahn is one of the best in the business, and an absolute gentleman to boot |

Sounds pretty fun.
I'm surprised you're not tempted to switch teams living in California.... Sharks, Kings and Ducks... all pretty good teams. |

That's one thing I will say - wings are cheaper in Canada, but I'll be damned if they aren't typically much better down here... - lumlums
If they're better in CA than Canada....shame on Canada! |

With that said, the bashing of teams can end there - glad it got balanced out, because both are ridiculous - stashu
Yep..Rather silly.. |

I was at the draft party when they got Reinhart. They were live telecasting either something for the Sabres website or maybe just radio, but it was cool. They had "the regulars" that do the normal radio gigs plus some others like Marty Biron, Rob Ray, and I think a few more alumni but my memory has always been poope, so I can't think of other names. Not nearly as boring as people warned me before I went.
Being able to go to the true draft this year was cool. Kinda neat knowing you're one of only a "few" thousand to get to be in attendance (ticket sales were only to about 1500 public and some similar number for season ticket holders I think). |

Yeah, I'd like to be able to get back and take one in in Toronto before too long - they've always been a good time. That and I only seem to get back around Christmas time now so it'd be nice to enjoy some of the summer instead. |

Josh Gorges picked Buffalo over Toronto, so it's possible. - Losman
lol... I love hearing this one. It's the same as Casey Bailey picking TOR over BUF... no one cares. |

You what disappointed me the most about going to see a game in Buffalo though?
I was god damn certain I would be able to eat chicken wings at the game and despite looking like a madman between periods, never found a food stand that was selling them.
Other than that, was lots of fun, people were nice and there was alot of friendly teasing.....and omfg Gomez scored a goal for the Habs. - Scabeh
Oh... you can get them...

I've been in SC for almost 15 years now. It's not exactly warm in the winter - it gets down in the 20s rarely, 30s regularly, and windy - but I can get away with living through it with a fleece. The good part is it's only a true winter and not Buffalo winters, the type that last for 5-6 months. - stashu
Here in NorCal we occasionally get down to the low 30s overnight in winter (though the Tahoe/Mount Shasta areas get much lower), but after coming directly from Edmonton, that strangely didn't bother me too much (plus it was only really the month of January)... |

All this fuss over a future 3rd liner who probably bounces from team to team after his 2nd contract runs out. Man when news is slow in hockey the most mediocre of stories get blown up so big it's laughable. |

Yes... Members club.
You order them prior to the game for in between periods and can eat them there... or take them to your seats.
Honestly though... I wouldn't eat them in my seat. Need elbow room! |

Come on Garf. Vesey is signing with Vegas. He can be low key at the black Jack table. |

E. Kane is sooooooo hoping to be selected in the expansion draft... |

I hope Vesey does sign with my team. He's a free asset with a short initial commitment. If he pans out great, if not...bye bye.
It's silly mention factors like cost of housing, past lack of success, media pressure etc.
Housing does cost more in TO. But that 1.5M condo will be worth 1.9M in two years, while the house in Amherst will cost you $500K but be worth 505K in two years.
The Maple Leafs have the management in place to build a winner. Babcock and Lameriello have a Stanley Cup pedigree. Ten years ago, the Blackhawks were in the same place. People no longer look at Chicago as the hapless franchise anymore. You gotta start somewhere. If the Leafs were still doing the same stupid things on the management side, you could think failure would continue to follow.
Toronto, like it or not, is the centre of Hockey. The World Cup is being played there. All top Canadian hockey media live there. To think players don't want to play there becuase of "pressure" is silly. Players go to New York Yankees despite great perceived
pressure. Same as Dallas Cowboys, Man U, Real Madrid. Who wants players who are not up to the task anyways |

If he wanted " quiet" he should stayed in Nashville. - Alexzanki
Agreed
Edit: Celebrities and ball players walk around this city without people bothering them.... Pretty much just say hi and move on. |

Playing in a pressure environment when the team sucks probably isn't the most fun.
Leafs didn't have a problem attracting UFAs when they were winning, though. |
