The guy in the KHL received a lifetime ban. NHL needs to follow suite and there should be an agreement with both leagues to uphold suspensions. - BluesDroogie
Should be, won't be.
Maybe KHL to NHL, but KHL won't ever honor NHL suspensions, not in their best interest. $$$$$ |

He was a Star on a bad team in college, he is going to be a 30-40 point producer at the NHL at best |

The Penguins are not as good as they were in June. They'll make the playoffs but they are not even close to being as good as Tampa. - Bruiniak
We lost Lovejoy. Are you saying that Lovejoy makes our team better than it is? Now Pouliot will hopefully step up & pull his head out of his arse & do the work he needs to to play as a permanent member of the defending champs. I'll further note that Daley was injured & Wilson, our young guns have more experience now after a cup & Flower is fully healthy so our goalie depth is even better than it was. So how aren't we as good as we were when we won Stanley?
Now Tampa, has had the team in the last 2 years that really all things considered should have a cup - but they don't! Big point that, they don't have a cup with the team they have & being so close 2 years running. Everyone has injuries & everyone either has puck luck or they don't. Now on paper you can have the best team that has ever skated but if you can't get your poop together over 7 then it doesn't matter.
Now will Tampa have a chance next season? Pretty sure they will. So will about 10 other teams you don't rate! I love people with opinions especially people that think theirs is THE poop, but giving some type of justification with your opinion & I for 1 will appreciate it even more! |

Didnt Tampa have the same depth when we beat them not that long ago? And out of all that depth I think Killorn and Callahan were actually the biggest difference makers in that series for Tampa. |

That's the point. The secondary players in Tampa are much better than the ones in Pittsburgh. They have four really talented lines and an unbelievable defense. Not to mention that they have two incredible goaltenders. They are better. Much better. |

That sounds pretty crazy to me.... I'd be happy if it's true since we signed him, but doesn't seem possible...
Devils seemed to do well with Vesey but I think he's staying in Boston. That's my official prediction.

I don't really agree with the premise that Tampa is better, but;
They aren't cup champs because talent is only part of what is needed to win the cup. Lots of cup winning vets talk about needing to learn how to win in the playoff. Keep your poop together and approach the game the right way. Penguins were great at this. So consistent and pretty unflappable. I also think they're better coached.

Tampa did make it to the Finals in '15, so they should know what it takes to win. Not having Stamkos was a bigger factor. Was it enough to win the Cup, I will say that other than Tampa, the opponents the Pens played were all healthy teams. Tampa was also fairly healthy, although they did have Stralman just returning and I am sure he was not 100%. Vasilevsly's play made Bishop's injury irrelevant. Bottom line is the Pens won and deserved to win. |

So many things have to fall in place to be cup champs. But his premise that Tampa is better is I'm thinking on paper, so it's even less credible hence my question if they are better on paper, for 2 years they didn't win with basically the same team & we did so......how are they better & the Pens worse than what they were a few months ago lifting Stanley? I've had no reply as yet.
Belief is what Sully gave his players, & they believed him. |

You could be right but I thought Tampa looked emotionally down at times. They're a very young team. I also think they were use to being the fastest team on the ice and didn't really know how to respond or deal with Pittsburgh's fast attack. Not that anyone really did know how.
Pittsburgh to me looked completely unfazed by anything. It was go out and execute. Never looked like they were playing desperate or scared.
