Everyone has blow ups. This one has been going on for a while. Most here don't care who is right or wrong and just want it to end.

I like talking to all you guys and I think most here feel the same. It's time to end the in house arguing.

You gotta remember that he was coming into a tough job, but he seamlessly fit in - he has a pretty great knowledge of the game and his strength is being able to carry a conversation on any topic and NOT being awkward (I don't know where that observation came from??) - he was thrown into a difficult situation and in my mind did a fantastic job - there's a lot of hate being thrown at the dude and I truly believe its unjustified - its not like the guy was out punting babies or arguing with everyone like Milbury...

I for one am glad there seem to be distinct "camps" on this board. I'd rather the fights than to be lumped in with some of these people.

again, I don't understand the hate on for hockey analysts??? Where does this come from - he's a talking head, filling time - plus MacLean is one of the most profoundly Canadian Canadians in the country the dude bleeds maple syrup...

I can understand hating someone like Pierre McGuire, or Denis Potvin or anybody to calls games for Boston but the CBC guys?? really?

Burrowsgate, 2011 playoffs, entire 2010-2011 regular season, many other instances of anti-Canuck behaviour and commentary from him and his partner...

Farhan Lalji commented on as well... about the disrespect from the Ron and Don show...

I didn't like him. Sorry

I would like to see

A panel for second intermission hosted by James Duthie and on it Friedman Mackenzie and Lebrun

Coaches corner with Maclean and Maclean Doug and Ron

you don't have to like him, or apologize - my point is he was great at his job(a difficult one) and doesn't deserve the sh*t talking that he's been getting.

Duthie is gold and Friedman is similar to Strombo as he can sit in on any sport (Olympic swimming most recently) and do it professionally, excitement and with knowledge - that's really NOT easy to do....

You might be in the minority on that one.
Strombo was f*cking awful. It was hard to watch.

I really didnt mind Strombo, it was weird at first but got used to it. That statement though it pretty incorrect, his hockey knowledge was adequate at best but as you say his job was just to keep the flow of the show (which I think is Ron's strength). The less opinions given by the host the better IMO, his job is to facilitate the segments and keep it moving along on time

Never was a good fit for me. May as well have had Walter Cronkite in there. IMO

When he talked for more than 10 seconds, thats when it got worse for me. I could handle him welcoming the show/segment, and a transition comment taking it from one panelist to another.

Aside from him there have been more odd/uncomfortable segments that didnt help. Like the social media breaks, the weird puck wall that you put into a computer to make the screen work, lots of room for improvement...

personally, i stopped watching HNIC main for the most part. I'd always watch an american feed if possible, the punjabi feed or if it was Montreal playing, i'd watch the french language feed. easy enough to make up your play by play as you watch...

I liked their effort but it was a fail. At least they recognized it.
