I for one am glad there seem to be distinct "camps" on this board. I'd rather the fights than to be lumped in with some of these people.

yeah, they didn't make an effort. Rogers forced all the changes on them cuz the idiots at CBC couldn't negotiate to keep Saturday night hockey... Rogers threw them a bone, but control all the details around presentation and personalities used...

if you read the stories that came out of it, the league was willing to let the CBC keep somehow the Saturday nights, except the guy hired to do the negotiations royally f'd up the negotiation thinking the league would never pull the saturday night games from HNIC...
