Yeah, I don't care for ron much. I just want the hockey and a little hockey talk.
if the volume is turned down, at least it will be better to watch with the girls. |

I remember suffering through the celery with cheese wiz and raisins a few times just cuz I was hungry. SOmetimes you get lucky and some kid trades with you and you take off immediately after switching.
peanut butter n cheddar might not be bad actually |

Parents eat the weirdest poop. My mother lived off of 99 cent frozen dinners and Wendy's 99 cent meal. |

my mom was a nurse, diet crazy and yet she liked Arby's
I went out for breaky with my mom a few years ago, she cut the fat off her bacon, I reached over to grab it and she started freaking out...
I guess everyone has their demons, over look the negatives in the stuff they like.
as per Wendy's, I used to think it was one of the better fast food places, but I guess they are all bad.
Those frozen dinners are all bad, bought some a while back when they were on sale and you don't want to have more than 1 a week and at that, that is too often. |

if you read the stories that came out of it, the league was willing to let the CBC keep somehow the Saturday nights, except the guy hired to do the negotiations royally f'd up the negotiation thinking the league would never pull the saturday night games from HNIC...

The Globe article is an interesting read, but it's mostly based on conjecture. Either way, aside from two games every Saturday CBC was going to lose control over the NHL. |

Conjecture is 100% fact on a rumour site like HB. |

The reporters put the pieces together using whatever sources they have... going by that standard pretty much all investigative journalism is conjecture without video/ audio evidence and even then, for example, Rob Ford denied it was him smoking the crack..
or R. Kelley getting peed on... |

I really didnt mind Strombo, it was weird at first but got used to it. That statement though it pretty incorrect, his hockey knowledge was adequate at best but as you say his job was just to keep the flow of the show (which I think is Ron's strength). The less opinions given by the host the better IMO, his job is to facilitate the segments and keep it moving along on time - WhiteLie
Strombo was ok with room to improve...to bad they didn't give him a few more years but the whiners got their Maclean back |

Strombo was a disaster and definitely not fit for anything hockey related. McLean knows his stuff, is diplomatic, dynamic and and excellent conduit for various guests and interviews (including being the only person who has any sort of leash on Cherry) |

He tolerates him. I don't mind cherry. I don't agree with him a lot but when I do it is something controversial. |

Instead of engaging in insults and attacking me cuz I don't agree with your endorsement of Ron ddouche bag MacLean, why don't you post something about hockey?
I'm not going to attack you in retaliation, or pm a mom like what's his face in the back woods, Or put up a crying baby meme. - kaptaan
If this is a reference to me, then good luck going forward

Macleans time had come. Funny because when Maclean took over for Hodge there were many who wanted Hodge back and Maclean gone but they gave Maclean a chance and he turned out ok for a time. Strombo was a refreshing change in the drab CBC everyday crap...He just needed a chance to succeed. Too bad he was not given the time but hey it's to each their own. I choose to watch NBC now instead of CBC regardless of Strombo or Maclean. |

Hi!
I hope you had a good weekend in the sunshine. Mine was action-packed, with a trip back in time thanks to a visit to Playland on Friday, then a brutal 7-0 loss by the Vancouver Canadians on Sunday. No playoffs for the Cs this year.
The new blog's up, with a look at the roles expected for Luca Sbisa and Jannik Hansen on Team Europe at the World Cup of Hockey.

I liked Hodge. He got fired because he called out CBC on a game that went to OT and they switched to something else like Coronation street.
He said on Air . In all their infinite wisdoms I guess the CBC finds this program more important than this game and was canned a week later. |

Quite possibly I'm old school, but Stromboli and his red couch approach to mamba pamby for me. It's hockey reporting, analyzing the game, I found the delivery and segue from analyst to analysts forced and to "red couch" discussion for me |
