The tumbleweeds also have something to do with the parents that think their kid is going pro at whatever sport/skill they have, sticking them in gyms/training/power skating 24/7

Nothing wrong with that.
Imagine the pride Mr and Mrs Lotche are feeling today.

She's the gifted athlete that keeps on giving.
Her parents must be numb to her trailer park behavior by now.

Adhd is over diagnosed and Ritalin over prescribed imo...

Totally. Can't believe the doses of adderal given to young kids. As far as I'm aware the doses are daily and slowly increase too. Adderal aka dextroamphetamine is something like one methyl group away from methamphetamine. It feels that way too.

It's a much harder drug than a lot of other drugs people female dog about. Too many people blindly trust prescription drugs and blindly hate illegal drugs without doing any research or thinking for themselves. I don't know when the government became so trustworthy but a lot of people have been brainwashed.

Doesn't help when you have idiots like Harper saying things like marijuana is infinitely worse than tobacco...

Considering how big the Olympics have become, they could really eliminate race walking IMO, like it makes sense to see how fast a human can cover 100m, 200m, 10km, etc., but the restricting rules and then judgement of form involve in race walking makes it a silly event. I would rather see them race backwards than walking
- WhiteLie

To be quite honest (and I'm probably in the minority) I find the Olympics quite drab and boring now. They hand out gold medals for anything now to market events that really don't need to be an Olympic event. The corruption is disappointing…as are a lot of the athletes…been trying to watch boxing and it has been brutal. Some of the track events are great but man more and more of the 'regular' events are becoming tough to watch. Over-marketed and over-hyped doesn't help an really it's to each their own. Just find them more of a disappointment now than ever.

Imagine the dressing room board material if someone called your team a bunch of 'cowards'. Nice job, Hope

I understand your opinion on being over-hyped and somewhat boring, and I haven't watched the Olympics this year because of work commitments. But I returned home last night in time to see the 200m and watched CBC for the next 2 hours and kind of enjoyed it. But I believe it's because I haven't watched until then.

BTW, Vantels description of womens beach volleyball is way off...what a great male viewing sport...

The women's soccer and rugby 7's were fantastic!! Enjoyed them immensely, particularly the rugby!

Edit: It must be winter there, you've been a bit of an emo, recently.

Other than the ones in Vancouver I don't get too excited about them, but as soon as they start I find I'm watching quite a bit. I even watched ping pong the other day - those guys must be a blast at a party.

Some of the events are pretty ridiculous though. Dressage, steeplechase, race walking?

I agree with you, there are a few events I will tune in for (or just follow for the results mostly), like the 100-200 sprints (because of Bolt and now DeGrasse), and I followed/watched some of Phelps this year but outside of those there are a lot of events and obscure events with little competition or excitement.

That being said, I do enjoy the winter Olympics much more, I think the sports are more interesting and exciting to watch. And as a whole I do appreciate that every few years there a couple weeks to appreciate the best of the lesser known sports that I normally wouldnt dare give any attention to, but still overhyped as you say

No poop hey?

I went a couple times in high school and had an unreal time. Really makes things like Squamish and Pemby music fests seem like a huge turn off.

Guessing ur cousin is from Dunster or McBride?

My friend worked with a guy named Bob one year to help set it up.

Thank the lord it is over. I despise that little poop for making me hear his name so many times. Not as much as I despise the media tho.
