I see LeBron Vesey hasn't picked a team yet.

Went to a Sabres game in Toronto last year. Sabres were down early and down by 2 goals twice and came back to win it in a shootout. Was a fun game and the fans were fun to talk to (and fun to poop talk back and forth).

Went to one in Buffalo and the fans were bumholes. Big fan base but they get a bad name when they travel here

Couple years back I went to a Sabers v. Rangers game at Madison Square Garden.
(A buddy is a season ticket holder center ice near the top). There was this absolutely knock out beautiful girl rooting for the Sabers with the worst mouth I've ever heard in a stadium. And I've heard plenty. She was so utterly obnoxious (and I say that as a neutral observer of that game) that if anyone even said 'take it easy' to her she tore them a new one. None of the guys knew what to do because they were so annoyed but she was so damn hot and so damn mean. It was hilarious.

I've always thought that this might be the case. The more working class fans go to games in Buffalo because its cheaper.
Games in Toronto have more people with money, so they're more reserved, polite, etc.
Also may be havent been going to hockey games their whole life.
…Just a theory.
Its funny going to games in San Jose and seeing tons of people in the lower bowl looking at their phones while the game is going on, taking selfies, getting sushi delivered to their seats….many people dont understand the "wait for a whistle rule, etc…"
when you have an affluent crowd/big city, going to a hockey game is just some thing to do once in a while. Many of the die hard fans are up in the nosebleeds.

Last Leafs/Sabres game I went to (I think it was the HSBC Arena then) the Leafs stayed true to form and were down about 2 or 3 nothing at the end of the 1st period. It didn't get any better from there.

In the 2nd intermission I was in the washroom taking a leak and started chatting with the guy next to me (also in a Leafs jersey).

He had come down in a chartered bus - it got stuck in traffic on the QEW and at the border. They arrived with about 2 minutes left in the 2nd - with the Leafs down by a redonkulous amount. Poor bastard.

Buffalo is the closest away game for Toronto, but no franking way I'm going back there until the curse is broken. I don't need to drive for two hours just to see the Leafs get humiliated - I can do that at home 40 times this year, thank you very much.

But the atmosphere, being outnumbered in your own building, at least it was, pretty awesome. No matter the score. It's probably been 8 years since I've been to a Sabres Leafs game though so it could be sh!t by now, but those were always my favorite games to go to.
