I'm quite surprised Vesey picked a non playoff team going into next year. I don't see the Rangers making the playoffs in 2017.

The Sabres got rocked by the Rags this year.

It's a bit of a curious decision, but ultimately he picked the currently best team that was closest to home without actually being home.

I never really liked The Tragically Hip, they have some good songs, but it's just really not my kind of music.

I'm a "radio hits" kind of fan, but think they're great and deserving of their popularity. That said, I'm not a fan of them live (tried watching them on youtube before and just can't do it). I'm sure that's built into not being a rabid fan.

I felt bad for Gord tonight on that last encore, the end of the one prior he looked in such bad shape

This cancer S$$T is really pissing me off, to many people have or are dying from it. My mother is going through it now. Never was much of a HIP fan but may the good lord look out for him, his family and his friends.

Yeah, I've never seen them live before, so I wasn't sure, but he definitely did not look good. I mean they were out there for 2 and a half hours too. What was with the kissing everyone on the mouth though? That was weird.

The Hip have no gimmicks, they just get out there and play old school. So unless you really love their music they aren't all that impressive to see live. I love their music so tonight was an awesome show, saw them in Calgary a few weeks ago, they put on a great show but Gord is definitely warn down and is not in great shape.

Lyrics are very Canadian centric which is probably why they never really took off in the US.

I remember when I saw Mitch Hedberg at the Riviera in NT just a few months before he died. At one point he just laid down onstage for a solid 5 minutes and just did his act from there.

about a month ago they found a mass that covered 3 quarters of my wifes kidney. Since then they have taken out her kidney and now the other is only working at 40%. Cancer is a scary thing.

Amen my brother 89, thank you. I lost my mom at 58 and my dad at 54 to this hideous disease. One of my best golf buddies hasn't played this year, was diagnosed with leukemia last year and was luckily to have a bone marrow transplant earlier in the year. Sad to hear about that guy from the HIP.
