Vesey didn't want to be here, we should move on.

Sure, but maybe he decides to sign if he didn't know he'd be meeting with a ton of teams.

I'm probably wrong, but I think the scenario became annoying by Thursday

Im sure 28 teams tried contacting his agent as soon as they could, its like finding free money when a ELC free agent hits the market. His agent had a list of teams to really talk to, but every team would be interested in some level

Murray is just p!ssing me off here
Enroth's WORST season looks like Nilsson's BEST
Wtf is he thinking?

And I KNOW Enroth would've happily returned

If we fall short of the playoffs this year,
I'd bet it was bc of goaltending

I understand what actual tampering is. What Chicago did was clever, not really tampering. So I guess I shouldn't have said borderline.

It's more eye rolling than anything else

I am not sure I follow this. Aren't scouts scouting players all the time?

College players, playing in a summer league, that belong to other teams attract the GM and coach? Not sure that's commonplace

If he ends up having an NHL career, it is a win for the Rangers.

still hoping he falls flat on his face though.

Hahaha
He should know how mediocre he is then, right?
He might be the worst backup in the league

The only thing I can think of is GMTM thought that the new goalie equipment rules were going to be in place this season.

I almost certain he has some AHL time and some healthy scratch moments in his 2 years ELC.

Still not worried about the backup spot. If Lehner goes down Ullmark steps in. If Nilson is that bad we have other options.

That's probably a factor. Plus Murray likes big goaltenders so the smallest one in the league probably wasn't his first choice.

Yeah, I have to catch myself thinking the same. For as long as I can remember we've never had a problem finding goalies.

The whole size thing is a good concept in theory, but at the end of the day irrelevant to the ability to stop pucks.

Islanders Backup goalies in the past:

2013-14: 8-7-2, .896 Sv%, 3.11 GAA
2014-15: 8-8-1, .889 Sv%, 3.08 GAA

Guess which one is Nilsson and which one is Johnson

I was just about to say... There were quite a few people that said Johnson was the worst back up in the league before we got him.

Then we should've kept Johnson
Or at least gone in a better direction than a guy who's career save % is just barely over .900
Plus we actually traded for this guy
Not that we gave up a lot, but still

From what was said it sounded like we wanted to but he wanted to be a starter. When that didn't pan out he went home and to a team with goaltending that is less than solid. There's nothing to worry about with this. It'll honestly be okay.

But I'm concerned with how many games we lose while Nilsson is just giving Lehner a night off?

Also...
I liked Ullmark last year for us, but he was shaken in Rochester at times.
Not a sure thing that he can be good enough to get us to the playoffs if Lehner gets hurt or plays poorly
