He should but I wonder if Murray fires him to save himself. If they do better under the new coach it may buy Murray an extra year even if the change in performance had nothing to do with the coaching change.

I'm not looking for another Regier type term, but also not one to cut someone off in such a short term. He's only had 2 full seasons so far (think my math is right?). I'd give him this season, see what the record shows, then the next season as well. If there's no upswing from this past season to the end of 17/18, no issue whatsoever with him being canned.

Aren't you an opponent of the Lehner trade? Knocking him for his inexperience? He's not a "vet" in any sense like the rest of those names. Taking him out, that's 6 guys on a gameday roster of 19 (I'll ignore the backup goalie).

Three years to turn around one of the worst teams in history is a bit aggressive, five is appropriate in my opinion for a GM. After five, if we aren't contending then we can let him go.

I don't think it's injuries you have to worry about with Kane. Best case scenario is he starts out the season hot and your GM can find a decent return for him before his next problematic scenario occurs.

Am I the only one who thinks we should go after Pirri? With what has gone down with him recently, I'm betting he'd be a cheap option for a 1 year deal (giving kids one more year to develop) and he could help round out the bottom 6.
