My cousin works at the customs, earlier this year they had this elderly couple traveling in a motorhome, so they ask the usual questions. To the question about if they are carrying firearms they answered no. So, they decide to search the motorhome, and before my cousin gets in, the owner follows him and says: "Sir...you will find a gun."

Turns out the man is a retired policeman and he still has his service pistol that he carries with him.

So, they confiscated the gun, and the man spent a night in jail for a false declaration. When his wife came to get him, she asked if they would get the gun back. My cousin replied that they wouldn't. So she then asked: "But....but how will we protect ourselves?"
