I remember this one day he was tanked and introduced his roomate to me, but instead called him his boyfriend (lmao). You shouda seen the look of shock and confusion on the roomates face....we couldnt stop laughing. He then somehow tripped and smashed his face on his kitchen counter knocking himself out. Of course he remembers none of this.

Another day he passed out in the middle of the street while crossing.

We were drinking with the (you know who-- biker gang)'s and he started claiming they were all afraid of him, started wanting to fight everyone....so of course I saved his life again and smoothed it over. Luckily Im family or else he'd have been done.

Saved his life so many times...but it was certainly entertaining.

OK.. we are on the hook for Luongo until 21/22 for 800,000.

It also looks like age is finally catching up with our dear departed Captain and he will probably only play a year or so more.

So my question is this:

If he goes on long term injury without any real indication that he would ever be returning to play... why would the Canucks not trade for him? Say a 4th or 5th pick. We recoop the cap-space, they get a free pick, we pay out nothing as he is on insurance, Luongo does not even need to ever leave Florida. It sounds like a win/win/win situation.

The only downside I see is that we would be using one of our 50 contracts but that is small penance to pay and even then, I am not sure if a LTI contract counts.

I do not see a downside.
