Depends on who is out there for what. We're not at the point where we want to give too much away for a rental but I would be cool with trading a 2nd/prospect for a roster player to help. But at that price you might be getting a Moore type player. Or a McGinn.

My hope is that they look for a non rental add. I think that's what they need. They're not quite good enough yet that rental adds like moore or mcginn will make enough of an impact. Personally I'm not a fan but a guy like Fowler would fit the description.

I mean, let's actually be honest, if he went on July 1st he's nowhere near the biggest free agent. He was only a big deal because of the trade and the delay in being a free agent.

Sabres got their man once Stamkos wasn't able to be a target. And the Oilers got theirs. I'd assume Edmonton had Lucic ranked higher on their wishlist than Okposo and I had Okposo higher on mine than Lucic.

Schedule to start the season looks pretty favorable to us.

Montreal is the hardest game and we get our western Canadian road trip out of the way real early. Sabres could realistically have 10+ points by the end of that month compared to 8 in 11 games to start last October.

Well that's not a trade deadline deal normally. I'm cool with adding to the team but at the TDL you're paying premium prices for guys that will help you now.

Agreed it will probably happen sooner if at all. Could also see them doing what NYI did few years ago. You stay patient long enough you might be able to get someone like boychuk at a cut price.

Compare it to the Lightning twice, Panthers, Canadiens with Price, and the Penguins I'll take it.

You have a good MTL team, 3 teams who picked in the top 5, a team who got hot at the end of the season and played well in the playoffs, a slightly above average team in Minnesota, division winning Florida, and then average Winnipeg. If I'm hoping the Sabres are average or a little better they should win against EDM, CGY, VAN, play okay and maybe win one against MTL and FLA, and split with MIN, PHI, WPG.

Of course they could also easily start the season 3-5 or 2-6 but hey, it's August and we're undefeated so I'm going to be excited while I can be.

Edmonton had good goaltending last year. They had terrible defense.

And even if they patch that up, you need to beat those teams if we're saying we're going to be a bubble team. Maybe easy was the wrong word to use, but a playoff team goes 5-3 or better in that month. It only gets harder when we have to start playing the Capitals, Lightning, Penguins, etc

They care so much more than I do. "Oh man we hate Kane so much" Okay. No one here is super excited to play them since we get to go against Stafford and Myers and Armia. Conditions were different, sure, but the grudge they hold seems unwarranted.

Last year I liked it since we beat them and Kane even gave away an empty net to give Reinhart the hatty so they couldn't even call him selfish lol.

We're done playing the Caps by mid December, 3 times in 7 games. Seems to be the only cluster of one tough team that I can find. The other ones seem fairly spread out. 5 game rough stretch of SJS, LAK, ANA, DET, PIT is in March. That'll potentially be the time where we either need a cushion or we need to steal some points from some good teams. Then we end the season against MTL, FLA, TBL. End of the season we better hope we've come together big time.

I listened to that on my way out to the golf course today. Peters is a total dumb dumb and is stubborn to listening to any out of the box thinking. I don't mind Rivet but Peters is a waste.

There was a report earlier this week that the Chargers were willing to give Bosa $10 million of his $17 million signing bonus up front, but that's still not good enough for Bosa's camp. This looks like it could seriously linger into the regular season, and the Chargers have pulled their most recent offer. They also released a public statement, making this a PR war now. In the statement, the team said it'll have to now adjust any further offers because Bosa isn't going to be able to play all 16 regular-season games due to all the missed time. This is getting ugly.

He doesn't want to play for San Diego, there was another team as well, his mother said he would not play for. They pulled an Eli Manning but didn't let the team know during the draft so that they could trade him/the pick.
