I don't think Pysyk is as good as his stats show he is. In fact I think he has a lot of holes in his game. Fact is though almost every one of his numbers are positive outside of scoring and penalties taken, and pretty much all of Gorges numbers are god awful.

This isn't just when he was asked to play a top role in Buffalo, he had bad numbers on a good Montreal team and that's one of the reasons they chose to trade him, and resign Alexie Emelien who isn't much better

All that said, as a 3rd pairing defenseman Gorges will do fine. Not saying he'll do great, but it won't be the end of the world. I'd still like to see Guhle over Franson and Nelson in Rochester. I'd also like to trade for Fowler.

Before anyone says anything, I'm not saying don't play McCabe or only play him those amount of minutes. I'm just saying I would play Fowler ahead of him. I'd still want him getting 15+ minutes a night and would let him on the PP too .

But if you bring him in as a UFA and don't give him a huge contract, which his stats haven't warranted, then you're really not losing much if he gets hurt. If he gets hurt you need someone from Rochester to fill the spot which is the same position we're in right now

Well it's not a downgrade since he wasn't here last year, but I agree Guhle is better in that spot. If Gorges isn't teaching someone he loses that edge over what Guhle can bring. He's not an upgrade on Pysyk but Kulikov is an upgrade in the 2nd position.

I'd rather Guhle took Franson's spot and we drop Gorges if we can swing a Fowler or another defenseman deal.

They were worth the investment, I love the look and feel of their clubs...already come with golf pride grips which was a huge plus in my books.

He's a basketball guy. I used to watch his show on NBCSN, and even during the Cup Final it would rate maybe 3 minutes out of his 3 hour show. If there was a game played the night before. If there was a game that night it would be like 30 seconds. "Game 3 tonight. Washington, Pittsburgh, NYI are all locks in the Metro.

Rangers are a pretty good bet. That means we're going against the Flyers, Bruins, and Red Wings for that last spot. Each team has their problems and it can come down to things such as luck, injuries, or just a hot team at the right time.

It's possible, but I wouldn't say playoffs or bust. We could easily play well and still miss.

I don't know that I'd call Montreal a lock, but if I was betting I'd definitely put money on them.

Neither would I call the Islanders a lock. They lost a lot this offseason and didn't add anything significant enough to cover what they lost. I'd much rather have Okposo than Ladd. At best it's a wash, and they didn't replace Nielsen.

Not a big fan of Cleveland equipment. Years ago when they had the Launcher series of woods they were excellent. Roger Cleveland sold his company to Srixon and joined Callaway. He's a big reason Callaway puts out a great product.
