NBC Sports had an article today suggesting Matt Moulson is "Under Pressure" this season. What are they talking about? He got 5 mil a year for 5 years guaranteed on what is almost definitely his final contract. He can go out there and play with his wang and it won't change his life a bit.

Ok good point. That would result in fines, maybe his wife leaving him. Possibly jail time. So yeah that would be life changing.

I wouldn't expect him to be. He's not a terrible player but not like he's going to improve the team in any way. If we're making a pickup we need to get someone that's going to make us better, not just a depth guy (although a depth signing wouldn't surprise me). I think Guhle is the defenseman that we "get". I predict we sign Risto to a 6 year deal and Girgs to a 2 year deal and we roll with what we have.

The North American team has a shot to make it out of the Prelim round. They play Finland, Russia, Sweden. Gotta think they need to beat Finland and Russia if they're to make it. Sweden likely sweeps those 3 games, Russia I'd predict would beat Finland, so Team NA really needs to get the points against Russia.

I could see them playing in the semis but I could also see them getting swept. All depends on their goaltending.

Tatar is an absolute stud and on the verge of needing a contract in the 5 yr 5m per range.

Tatar is 26 and had a very down year last year. The RedWings have issues to resolve w the cap, if I recall, and they have other dire needs so they need to make decisions With Tatar and Nyquist and Jurco all coming up for contracts. So, maybe he might be worth a conversation.

They need defense though, same as us. We don't feel like good trade partners.

During the Torres and Boyes years my interest in hockey started to dwindle. Figures though because those are the only two years we made the playoffs in my years as a Sabres fan.

If they need cap space to pursue that defenseman we can help, and we have defensive prospects, but other than that you're spot on. We have defensemen we're willing to part with but they're all older and on contracts that wouldn't work for them.

I was just barely a fan in 2006-07, so I don't really count that year. But I remember sitting there on July 1st 2007 watching sports center and seeing Briere and Drury sign with other teams, and thinking "who the hell is Jocelyn Thibault?"

I'd say the only criteria is they have to be from Darcy onward and have to be someone that we either traded for or actually used a substantial pick on.
