two 2nds and a 3rd. You can't ignore Bolland's albatross contract. Florida would have had to include a 2nd to dump the contract on a stand alone basis. Steep price for a B level prospect. - CanuckDon
It's ONE 2nd, and a 3rd.
And the second will most likely turn into a 3rd if Crouse doesn't make the team.

It should've been a 6th and a conditional 7th or something along those lines; when you're about to finish at the bottom of the league you can't be giving away good draft picks like that. |

So you are attributing no value to taking on Bolland's contract? Interesting. |

Any GM that trades a 2nd round pick should be fired on the spot |

Florida just killed it getting rid of Bolland, adding cap space, and a spot for someone who can play plus getting picks... |

When did I say no value??????
They have to reach the cap floor next season.
If Bolland isn't healthy which he is most likely going to be on LTIR they only pay $1.1 million per year according to the trade or 20%
so $3.3 million for the term of the deal
Obviously Crouse is worth more than what looks like to be two 3rd picks so the carryover covers taking on the contract. |

Bolland is on LTIR the next 3 seasons? Serious injury? what happened? Saying Arizona traded two 3rd round piks for Crouse is a gross exaggeration. Lets stick with facts. |

What is an exaggeration about being sent back to junior???? Which is most likely the case.

I am not disputing that he will be sent back to junior. I am saying that Florida would have had to include at least a 2nd round pick to dump Bolland's salary. So saying Arizona is acquiring a prospect for a 2nd/ 3rd or two 3rd's (if he is sent down) is an over simplification. Florida greatly improved their team/ financial flexibility by dumping a useless plug with a horrific contract. People complain about the Sbisa contract |

Rangers really benefit from being the team in New York, always an attractive option for players
Side note: Looks like Green is safe, Av's hire their AHL coach |

Yes, New York, the Florida teams, and the California teams have an advantage. Also, Chicago. Players are drawn to great Cities as well as warm climates with no media presence/ fan pressure. |
