my then-teenage daughter went that route for a little while...still isn't an all-out carnivore, but at least she eats chicken and seafood - Michael Pachla
She made imitation chicken salad the other day and imitation sloppy joes last night.

My wife has been a vegetarian for over 20 years, but she eats seafood as well. I tried it once for like 3 months and was dying for a burger.

I'm about to go "paleo" (not strict, as a sort of label I guess) - meats, fruits, vegetables (and cheese)
Was reading a friend's facebook recently who went to school for a bunch of nutrition related courses and when she said that bread is one of the very worst things in the world....it freaked me out. (and no, not some crazy/vegan type person - she mentioned eating burgers, but to avoid the bun)

The problem with bread is it contains wheat, a major inflammatory food. Dairy is along the same lines. Not good to consume a lot of that stuff.
Sugar is another bad one, most processed foods are loaded with it.

Yeah, those are 2 big reasons I'm gonna go that way. Natural sugars from the fruit will be fine, avoiding the processed everything is the other big reason.
My girl is on a anti bread diet . Down to 102lbs - cabin
It's just tough to handle lunch for me...so used to a sandwich so many years of my life - through school years and now the last few years especially here at work I pack a sandwich every day. It's much better than going out to McDonalds and the like, but to hear how bad it is was nuts.
I'm gonna come off as a bad Buffalonian...but the last few times I had Sahlens (recently when up in Buffalo, then in April my dad was up from Florida and brought some), I'm just not enamored with them anymore.
Hahaha it's like they started their scouting list at #20 and when they managed to get 13,14,15 they started off their list without looking at who was available

My 7 year old was coming home every day with 50% - 90% of her lunch uneaten. I was not pleased. I think it was the bread she didn't like.
About a month ago we were at a softball tournament, and I grabbed her the "protein lunch" from Starbucks. A hard-boiled egg, some pita bread (mini), cheese, a packet of peanut butter, apple slices and grapes. She loved it.
So now I make that for her every day, minus the peanut butter, of course. I also add in some turkey or chicken - not fried or battered.
She loves it, and it's so easy to make for her in the morning.
Try it for your own lunch.
I eat a lot of carbs because I need the fuel, but for others, it's a great lunch full of protein.

Only for some people.
I have no problem with wheat or dairy, so I can eat as much of it as I like.
The whole gluten-free thing is pretty laughable (unless you actually have Celiac Disease, which has been diagnosed by a doctor, not by your best friend Debbie).
People tell you they feel much better since eliminating gluten from their diet.
No, you feel better because last night you didn't scarf down an entire pizza and wash it down with 5 beers.*

If you consume that stuff over many years it could present problems for you later in life. I'm 57 and I try to watch those things and just try to eat better. Not always perfect but I try to eat a nice balance of protein and vegetables every day. Weekends are my weakness.
