It's just tough to handle lunch for me...so used to a sandwich so many years of my life - through school years and now the last few years especially here at work I pack a sandwich every day. It's much better than going out to McDonalds and the like, but to hear how bad it is was nuts.

im basically doing this "diet" now….kinda a modified version at least.
I buy turkey from the deli, ask them to cut it a little thicker than usual and make turkey rolls for lunch.
I do sweet pepper, avocado, Cilantro and sometimes lettuce, onion or jalapeño.
its not any harder than making a good sandwich and im sure the combinations are endless.
if im going to eat a brot, burger or hot dog, I still do a roll. I just try not to eat them often.
Gluten free pizza sucks. dont even bother. I apply the same rule to pizza. I just dont eat it that often
you can do corn tortillas for tacos and burritos.

Bread used to work wonders nutritionally for people who worked in fields for 12 hours a day and who's life expectancy was 50. Now a days, not so much.

My 7 year old was coming home every day with 50% - 90% of her lunch uneaten. I was not pleased. I think it was the bread she didn't like.

About a month ago we were at a softball tournament, and I grabbed her the "protein lunch" from Starbucks. A hard-boiled egg, some pita bread (mini), cheese, a packet of peanut butter, apple slices and grapes. She loved it.

So now I make that for her every day, minus the peanut butter, of course. I also add in some turkey or chicken - not fried or battered.

She loves it, and it's so easy to make for her in the morning.

Try it for your own lunch.

I eat a lot of carbs because I need the fuel, but for others, it's a great lunch full of protein.

Thanks. I definitely don't need the carbs/energy - I sit at a desk all day. My bigger issue is not being so lazy and doing more prep for lunch rather than rushing in the morning to make my lunch at my kids' sandwiches (though 1 has gone the cold-cut only route again, skipping bread, on their own accord)

Thanks Seedy. I know when I did Atkins about 12 years ago that I ended up getting a pepperoni and cheese tray at walmart and would eat it over the course of a few days at work as my lunch.

It fits the mold tho - no carbs!

Only for some people.

I have no problem with wheat or dairy, so I can eat as much of it as I like.

The whole gluten-free thing is pretty laughable (unless you actually have Celiac Disease, which has been diagnosed by a doctor, not by your best friend Debbie).

People tell you they feel much better since eliminating gluten from their diet.

No, you feel better because last night you didn't scarf down an entire pizza and wash it down with 5 beers.*

So true with the Gluten thing . If you are not allergic to it , no reason to omit it . No different than peanuts.

Not sure if already stated so:

http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...-coyotes-two-draft-picks/

Hated what that kindergarten GM did at the draft with the Datsyuk trade, but this one seems like a steal. I really liked Crouse in his draft year, haven't followed him since.

My wife eliminated things made from wheat flour from her diet a couple months ago.
She lost weight and claims to feel much better.
She also used to have real quick blood sugar drops if she went for too long without eating. All of that went away with eliminating the wheat flour.
She admits that it could be psychological or it could be physical, but she's not arguing with the results. Obviously, this isn't going "gluten free," but there is something to be said for eliminating wheat from her diet.
And of course, not everyone is the same. So, it may make some people feel better to eliminate it and others not.

Eliminating the bread thing does work. My girl lost 15lbs over 3 months.
Down to 110lbs but she is only 4'9"

Fun size

Good move. I can tell you I had Callaway x22 tour irons, had them for 5 years and I loved them. I had 4-PW. I had credit money for making a hole in one at Lancaster CC and used the credit to get the irons. There is just enough forgiveness but I liked the workability of the irons. I could move them each way, easy to hit out of the rough. I traded them in last year when I went to the Ping i25's.

We're screwed at LW... Now Pirri to the (frank)ing Rangers because they clearly needed another LW....

Gotta say Im very impressed with the new guy in charge there. They had virtually no young assets and looked to be in serious cap jail. Did some real nice work with contract negotiations and signing vesey, pirri and that other kid.

If he can move one of girardi or staal he's got my vote for GM of the year.

The Rags need d help, not more forwards. Looks like Vesey will be in the AHL before Xmas. I would think a trade might be coming there.

Screwed is a bit harsh, I doubt Pirri makes enough of an impact for this team anyways.

Haha to Vesey. See what happens when you trust the NYR? Good luck hitting those bonuses now.

How long until he requests a trade? lol

LW Depth on NYR:
Nash
Zuccarello
Pirri (proven NHL player)

We have Kane. Who isn't a lock to be on this team opening day. Ennis who is a mystery and mainly played center and RW. Moulson who doesn't deserve to be playing with Eichel and Girgensons who doesn't deserve to be playing with Eichel. I'd say screwed at LW for this season is a current accurate statement. Murray dropped the ball on giving his franchise cornerstone an adequate talent to play on his left side.

But he's absolutely capable of doing it.

Kane, Ennis, Girgensons. Its not perfect by any means and i would like them to add one more name but hardly consider it "screwed". Eichel and O'Reilly are very good at making players around them look better than they actually are.
