hes not that good defensively though - YuenglingJagr
Just going by process of elimination. Assuming that switching teams has an effect on the perception of each player's abilities, I'm guessing Karlsson scores 50 or 60 points on LA, while faring average defensively. doughty puts up 60 or 70 points playing run and gun hockey with no defensive responsibilities, while also faring average defensively.
If either of them have a chance at the Norris, I'm guessing it's Doughty, in that scenario. But i don't think Doughty or Karlsson fit into the other's team very well. |

I think Doughty on a top offensive team like Washington, could put up 60+ points. He has that ability offensively. He also has the ability to be a dominant defender. The way Doughty controls a game, reminds me of the way Chris Pronger did when he first got to the Flyers. |

Pirri sucks, that is all - YuenglingJagr
he sucks enough to have scored 14 goals in 61 games and 22 in 49 the yr before. for a team that needs scoring depth in the top 6 i think he would have been worth taking a shot at 1.1 for one year |

so i check philly.com because my presence here today has me wondering what else is going on, and i see WIP fired josh Iness and the fanatic suspended 3 employees over caller fraud and ruiz got traded to the dodgers.
good lord.
so are the dodgers like phillies west now? what is this philly-La phenomenon?

60, on a team like Washington, is a lowball estimate.
There is a lot of the talent on the Caps. but the question was what he'd do on Ottawa. There is no talent in Ottawa. |

whether you like Innes or not or like talk radio or not its just so stupid. Bloom hired him to be edgy (much like when he brought Stern to Philly) and he was fired for being too edgy, granted it was Eskin or above him that fired him. I knew once Bloom was fired Innes wasn't long for Philly.
Good for Ruiz to get another shot at winning. Imagine being the Dodgers backup who was also a life long Dodger with a family going from there to here. Imagine he is happy

Ottawa? No doubt he could. Not Stanley cup contending better. most contending teams have 2-3 elite players. they'd need a couple more. But better nonetheless. |

I can't believe that asshat lasted as long as he did. They should have fired him the first month he was on the air instead of just suspending him a day. - mayorofangrytown
i think i heard him on his very first show...or maybe second when i was coming back from a flyers game - before i moved out here obviously. he annoyed me immediately, and i don't even know why. maybe his voice? i heard a few seconds of his show here and there, but i never listened.
why should he have been fired before? not entertaining? i have zero clue about the guy. |

I can't say I listened to him a lot but I can say I tried to listen to him a bunch of times and couldn't deal with his immaturity.
I can't remember how long into his night time show it was when the Phillies season started on WIP. Instead of just bumping his show for the night, since he was fairly new, the moved him to AM during the game broadcasts. I caught the first night of that. He had a complete fit being on AM instead of FM. He called his mom on the air and told her they bumped him for baseball. He went on and on about how he was going to do what he wanted because no one listened to AM anymore. He sang songs from beginning to end. Called his friends. They suspended him the next day.
In my opinion, he never got any better. |

He had habit of talking over all his on air partners. I knew if I turned him on at 2PM, he was good to go until the 2:20 break. His on air partners could not get a word in edge wise. When he was paired with Tony Bruno, often callers would ask if Tony was there because there segments were he (Tony) wouldn't speak. People thought he left early or was sick.
What ultimately got him fired though, was a post he did on Twitter. However, had he not been getting slammed in the ratings for the last 9 months, he would have probably only been suspended. His Tuesday show was the straw that broke the camels back.
He would at least talk hockey though at times. |

jeez. these gigs seem like they would be hard to get. good ones anyway. i know radio guys get fired when formats change or the station gets sold etc...but to get canned bc of stupid poop like that is just stupid. there's only 1 stern. there will never be another. and if you listen to him now, he's way, waaaaaay different than his show was back in the 80s and 90s...maybe even 10 years ago. he's still funny. it's just different than it used to be.
anyway...congratulations to the sports fans in the next town this guy finds a job. if he does at all. |
