Yeah, minus the second rounder - dothedougie
Make it a 3rd and add a 2nd going the other way with Yak and it makes Chia sense. |

Yakupov will likely pick up some great habits from Radulov if he goes to the Habs. Great skills like, how to under perform and bolt for the KHL. Seems like a great idea. |

Childsplay. Sweeney would have given two first rounders and bergeron for him. |

Yak is worth a third round pick. He has little value based on his results and please don't make excuses Edmonton fans that he was used "improperly" He doesn't have a high value. Busts normally do. |

Rough spot for Chiarelli to be in.
He just obviously lost the Hall for Larsson trade in terms of "fair" value. Even tho I personally love the trade myself it certainly is a loss.
Now he needs to move out a former first overall that I personally don't believe will ever be part of the solution in Edmonton.
I fully believe Yak will be a solid NHLer through his career and still has the outside chance of having it all "click" and be a dynamic scorer. But I don't believe that will ever happen in Edmonton because of the massive wealth of clearly superior forwards in front of him.
There is no room on the Oilers for another one dimensional offensive style guy.
I believe fair value would be Montreal's first round pick next year. Yak is on a nice low cap deal with time remaining before he is a FA and is a young former first overall pick, albeit in a very weak draft year.
Or a solid pick and prospect. Or a solid two way depth player.
Hard to give up a former first overall even for any of what I mentioned. Yak still could end up the best player from his draft year, far too early to write him off. But he has clearly burnt his bridges in Edmonton. |

Give Yak to McJesus, He's already got one tool on his left hand, might as well put the nail in his right.

He's worth a lot more than a 3rd round pick... I just don't see him as the type of player Montreal would be looking at right now.... New Jersey, Toronto, Carolina, Arizona, Minnesota just to name a few would all have a huge interest in Yakupov and would pay a lot more than a 3rd for him |

They just traded for a defensemen who's perceived value is a lot higher than his actual value.. sounds like the exact trade they would make if it involved Yak. |
