So you held on to for a year that I was mad because we drafted a player I never heard of , had an argument that night , then learnt about the guy, followed him for the year , and now I like him

If you ever get bored on here , there is an old lady who lives across the street, in her 80s that said she hated avocados. She came over for a BBQ and I put avocado on her burger and now she eats it. You could have fun telling her what a dumb b1tch she is.

One or two years in the minors two years on the big club to get their feet wet . The third year they should be accustomed to NHL

it's the extreme pendulum shifts that bug me. last summer, it was chicken little with him. this summer, everything's great. last summer, the draft was underwhelming. this year, those picks make benning a draft god. last summer, the rebuild hadn't started. this summer, the rebuild is finished and it's all about developing and adding. last year, the canucks' draft sucked b/c he hadn't "heard of the guy." this summer, the teams that he hates had lousy drafts b/c of the same reason.

everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's funny when the opinions swing from one extreme to the other.... from the same guy.

The sky was falling back then. That is why I said you need to change Garrisson Bieksa Edler Tanev Hamhuis Higgins Kesler Burrows Luongo.

It looks like someone agreed with me because only 5 of the of the core are still here.

You need a better hobby than me dude.

Yeah, I'm with you on Bo providing more offense than Sutter, just didn't want to get caught up on labeling the lines after the top line...

I think WD will give Sutter more ice time than Bo. and Bo will still produce more points.

And if the Sedins are slowing down and having more trouble in our own zone, give them more offensive zone starts and Sutter can take those d zone face offs.

I look at Sutter as a less offensive Kesler. maybe with the right wingers he could produce more than 30ish points, but I wouldn't bet much on it.

Too bad Rodin might still be recovering to start the season, it really makes it a bigger question mark on the wing. and makes it more likely JV could start with Canucks, which might not be a bad thing, but I think JV could benefit from big minutes in Utica.

I don't think they paid Sutter almost $4.5 M to play third.

b/c they have an overabundance of elite talent that they can afford to trade for need.

the problem with the oilers doe not lie mainly with their 1st round picks. it's the fact that they didn't get any other players from any of the other rounds.

now what do you think benning would have done with those oiler picks? since he's a good drafter, perhaps he might have been able to do better?

I don't care what line you call it, just give Sutter more icetime (than Bo) and dzone starts and deploy Henrik's and Bo's line in more scoring situations... Bo's line is going to produce more points than Sutter's.

Because they chose poorly, those kids are talented, but the team itself is poorly constructed. That team has everything to do with poor management and little to do with kids that aren't very good.

so you're saying don't just roll the lines over?

that's a coaching issue, is it not?

did your feelings get hurt?

even vantel acknowledged it was his.

but just for you, i remembered it b/c it was a monumental fight b/w boonerbuck and vantel. A LOT of the posts got deleted b/c of the extreme vitriol spewed (especially by your leader.)

http://www.hockeybuzz.com...?thread_id=127456&page=63

so i guess i don't have to stfu?

exactly. it does not prove or disprove that tanking works.

the oilers model only proves that they have had a decade of mismanagement.

I wasn't against rolling the lines when we had 1 first line and 3 third lines... but now I am...

is that a Trump pivot? or an evolution of team strategy because of a changing and developing roster?

Can we please have some sort of hockey to shut people like Negative Nancy (RealityChecker) up? I mean even kaptaan doesn't go to these lengths to try and prove a point. It's like reading the great Twitter feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West, or just #McChicken.

If Oilers have an abundance of elite talent why have the not finished out of the bottom 10 in a decade?

Yup! They should never have selected Yak in the first place. It was the perfect opportunity to address team needs. The kept drafting skill without having the chance to develope ala the Red Wings.

having an abundance of elite talent does not automatically create an elite team.

the gm still has to construct a well balanced team.

Can I answer that?

Because they had all the same type of players, smallish skilled forwards, with no veteran presence, plus they didn't draft any defensemen.
