Like we've harped all along. We need a 2nd line that can produce. Put less pressure on the Sedins. If not, we're in trouble like in the past few years. So far I guess Sutter is 2C...who are the wingers go to be? A trade will determine. - Eldebrink
This is still a HUGE issue and question mark. |

he can always talk to you. this is an opinion from a noted talent evaluator.
this was the day after boeser was drafted. funny how this is exactly the same "criticism" that you cited when saying that the leafs, oilers etc had bad drafts. that and how the draft after the first round sucked b/c you "never heard of the guy." - RealityChecker

Here is a problem . You draft and develop and five years later you they are ready but our first line just retired. |

Nuke/Sutter/JV would be a good 2nd line. |

did your feelings get hurt?
even vantel acknowledged it was his.
but just for you, i remembered it b/c it was a monumental fight b/w boonerbuck and vantel. A LOT of the posts got deleted b/c of the extreme vitriol spewed (especially by your leader.)

I think Sutter is good for 30+ points, regardless of who he plays with, if he stays healthy.
I'd like to see Eriksson on the 2nd line wing, to spread out the scoring and with the Sedins on the pp. (but this isn't happening)
I hate saying Sutter is 2nd line centre because I think he is really the 3rd line or checking line centre, and wish to see him take more dzone face offs when compared to Henrik and Bo. With the result being more icetime for Sutter (compared to Bo), and more offensive production for Bo and Hank's lines. |

That's why it's so important to build continually, plus it shouldn't take five years for higher end kids to be ready. |

Could you see Bo perhaps filling those shoes? When was the last time a GM selected a play making centre with our 1st pick? Henrik? I can 't remember. |

Your second line center should be a 50 point player IMO, personally I think Horvat is already offensively better than Sutter.
Wing is really the issue in the middle six. |

I read his post. You ragging on him makes no sense. He specifically said that he had never heard of the draftee's and therefore didn't like them. Well he knows them now and likes them. |

True but your first liner should score 30 playing with the Twins. Big fan of Hansen...but third line guy for me. |

it's the extreme pendulum shifts that bug me. last summer, it was chicken little with him. this summer, everything's great. last summer, the draft was underwhelming. this year, those picks make benning a draft god. last summer, the rebuild hadn't started. this summer, the rebuild is finished and it's all about developing and adding. last year, the canucks' draft sucked b/c he hadn't "heard of the guy." this summer, the teams that he hates had lousy drafts b/c of the same reason.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's funny when the opinions swing from one extreme to the other.... from the same guy. |

Yeah, I'm with you on Bo providing more offense than Sutter, just didn't want to get caught up on labeling the lines after the top line...
I think WD will give Sutter more ice time than Bo. and Bo will still produce more points.
And if the Sedins are slowing down and having more trouble in our own zone, give them more offensive zone starts and Sutter can take those d zone face offs.
I look at Sutter as a less offensive Kesler. maybe with the right wingers he could produce more than 30ish points, but I wouldn't bet much on it.
Too bad Rodin might still be recovering to start the season, it really makes it a bigger question mark on the wing. and makes it more likely JV could start with Canucks, which might not be a bad thing, but I think JV could benefit from big minutes in Utica. |
