Fans aren't allowed to give an honest opinion about other teams? The question was where does Philly rank... someone said they are elite ... I disagreed.
Things got salty ... some questionable human anatomy and physiology was thrown around ... and you ignored my comment about poutine.
You also compared Philly to a team that didn't exist. That's like me comparing Philly to the team Las Vegas put together between 1996-2011. It's like comparing apples to ... the team that Las Vegas put together between 1996-2011.
By the way, the only thing that matters in my hockey world is Teemu and his bazillion goal rookie season. You'll never take that away from me. - DonaldDump
Sure you can give an opinion. But when you do that the a fan of that team, I think the fans of that team should be allowed to compare their team your’s, as well. Then some non-Flyers fan brought up salt and medicine.
I used the comparison showing that the Flyers fan actually had a team during that span because of a fanbase and ownership group that would never allow the franchise to leave. I apologize if that was unclear.
Teemu’s rookie season was amazing, and will likely never be equaled.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I remember ADH, Angiotensin and EPO all working to raise BP. ANP lowers BP. Wouldn't ANP be release due to high Na concentration creating higher water retention, increased blood volume and thus higher BP? - KINGKENZO
http://www.foodnavigator-...alin-not-volume-expansion
Its interesting this research suggests the higher water retention due to hypernatremia may have a nervous system cause. They suggest sodium causes release of epinephrine leading to vascular constriction and higher blood pressure as a result (as opposed to more water retention / incr. blood volume) |

I am a little out of the loop. Am I to gather the Flyers have some sort of big press conference tomorrow. Anyone got a link? - MBFlyerfan
It was just announced that Ryan Lochte is going to be on dancing with the stars.
Looks like the news leaked early. |

This is correct, but not what you wrote.
So again. You failed, Quizkid.
EDIT: Now I see. You meant the endgame would see a low BP. You made it seem like you meant high Na would directly result in low BP. Please be more clear next time, Quizkid. Have fun in A/P. - Giroux_Is_God
Yea Im sorry, I meant it as the homeostatic response and not the direct endproduct of sodium causing low blood pressure.
Atleast im a Quizkid

I thought it was to announce that Tim Tebow is now somehow a professional baseball player despite not having a contract with a professional baseball team. |

I may be wrong about the Steelers, but the rest of what I wrote is factual. Post Mario/prior Sid, the Pens had terrible attendance, as did the Pirates until they started winning. You may not like it, but it is true. And, prior to Mario, the Pens had lousy attendance and were often on the verge of folding or relocating. Again, facts. - BiggE
The fact is that it is a steelers town. They are really the only team that matters. The Steelers are quite a franchise themselves. Hockey has a pretty good hold on the city now so I don't think it will disappear, but it all comes down to the Stillers |

At least we can agree on the Teemu side of things.
As for Winnipeg's fan base / ownership, I think it's a bit more complicated than just allowing the team to leave. For a relatively small city, I'd argue that our fan base is pretty decent (actually, one of the best IMO) ... you can't find an away game lacking hundreds/thousands of Winnipegger's. The fans here are passionate.
If it were up to the fans, the team obviously would have never left. Business is business though, and that's as much I can intelligently say about the economic side of things.
If you're going to compare teams though, it's probably best to compare to teams that actually exist. I'm pretty firm on that one.

The Penguins fans reactions here are hilarious... I mean yes, your team just won the Cup (well deserved, I think), and your team has 4 vs. our team's 2. But if you don't like how Bill hand-picked numbers, then just go back to 1967, for the entire history of both clubs... and when you do that, the Cups are the only thing the Pens have on the Flyers (granted, the top measure)... but everything else: regular season, division titles, conference titles, head-to-head in both regular season and playoffs... it's the Flyers. The Penguins once went 15 years (42 games!) without winning in Philadelphia, while the Flyers once went 35 games in a row without losing to anyone... the Flyers were the 3rd NHL team to come back from 0-3 down to win a playoff series, while the Pens were only the 2nd team to lose a series after being up 3-0.
Look - I'm not trying to say that the Penguins are trash / losers / worthless, etc. They're far from it. It's just, if you want to compare them to the Flyers... well, you got us in the biggest measure, but not much else. - copelal

Honeslty.. an argument can be made that the only reason they have 4 cups is because they have been much worse than the Flyers.
Without crapping the bed and getting #66 and co., and then again for Sid and Co. they likely would never have a cup.

Yes, I know that Philadelphia is the only place in the world that has food that is bad for you. I know people in all other areas eat nothing but lettuce and organic fat-free bison burgers and only drink 100% distilled water which they use to take their vitamins and supplements.
On a side note, were I Winnipeg management, I'd probably refrain from drafting any US-born players. Seems that the good ones don't want to play in a desolate tundra wasteland unless they're vastly overpaid.

And apparently, so does the South Jersey area:

I might have to head there for some poutine. I just hope it can compare to the stuff I've had in Canada.
Actually there is a Smoke's planned for South Street
Or you can go to Blind Pig, Noir, or Triumph Brewing Company.

I applaud his desire to play baseball, I believe that he wants to be a pro athlete more than fill his ego (well, more so than filling his ego). That said, the only reason he's getting a look is because he's a name, and the only reason he'd get any contract offer, including the Venezuelan Winter Ball one, is for publicity. |

Holy moly. Someone is escalating quickly. This can't be good for your cardiovascular disease.
I've heard Philly is a nice place. Lol.
Good US-born players don't want to play here? Are you close to Mr Wheeler or Buff?
Mark Stuart moved to Winnipeg full time, bruh. (Lol).
I'd also like to point out that between my Moksha yoga classes, craft beer fests and 100% organic/fair trade/locally sourced/gluten free mason jar water drinking, I like to graze out in the pasture. I can keep an eye on the Bison, as long as it's not -50 C.
Although I find it's easier to mediate when you're frozen as solid as a hockey puck.
