I think its like someone posted earlier, a little Stockholm syndrome. When I first started getting into baseball as a kid my 3 favourite teams were Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays because the highlight packages were always full coverage of the AL East and then 3 seconds of everyone else, so they were all I was exposed to. Nowadays I hope the Jays do well but will always be trumped by Seattle in my eyes.
I do get the territory rights things and Rogers' ties to the Jays, but I would love Sportsnet to give some more coverage the league in general, especially since they have like 5 channels at their disposal - WhiteLie
Agreed. I'm in the US an have the opposite problem - trying to find somewhere that has decent Jays or Leafs coverage was really tough. Even at home it's impossible without subscribing to the league TV packages or relying on potentially shaky feeds via reddit. That said, I did find a really nice sports bar here that has about 25 screens, soundboxes for commentary, and subscriptions to MLB.TV and NHL.TV... |

NFL preseason is on and there isn't even 20 seconds of coverage on Rogers. |

And they are part of a tiny minority. But way to go. |

Good. NFL preseason is absolutely useless, except for making money. |

As I said in last nights conversation, this is the Canucks fans thread, it should be fair game to talk about anything hockey related we want to. - LeftCoaster
that's fine but then don't complain when leafs fans show up and hijack the conversation and hurl insults (as is their wont, generally speaking)...
it's like you're in "the walking dead" and you're just hanging out, when some dope fiend starts banging a hammer on pole and zombies far and wide start converging on your position... the guy has every right to bang a hammer on the pole, but everyone is gonna have to deal with the zombies when they show up.... |

Pot: Hey how are you?
Kettle: Doing great, good to see you again.
Its not the Canada Blue Jays....so technically you are a fan of their team. But what's great, is the whole country has embraced....and has done so for decades. - Fakepartofme
now that is just a lie. I hate all toronto area teams, lols... i'll cheer for any team in the Seattle-Vancity corridor. |

not belief. straight up facts!

A) yes I can. He showed a huge improvement over the latter half of the season. He was strong defensively and drove play when he was on the ice. He also learned a lot from our vets and is apparently training hard with the Sedin's this summer.
B) How can you say Bo isn't being developed properly? Other than having an anti-Canuck stance? you haven't presented any evidence.
C) I absolutely can say they will be fine if they draft and develop well. I don't believe in tanking and neither does our management group. But we all appreciate your unsolicited advice on how to conduct our rebuild
- CanuckDon
personally I think JV great considering he took a giant leap from junior to NHL. Had a drop mid season but came back better. MOst wouldnt even make it yet and crash and burn....so he did quite well actually |

An argument that defies common sense, like Manwood's, requires the burden of proof.
The sky is blue. I don't have scientific studies to quote in support of this, but if you tell me it's brown, you're going to need some cold hard facts, homie.
And evidently you care. |

Edmonton could become a juggernaut. They scare me.
I think they are a better team after the Hall trade, not on talent, but on team balance and possibly a change to the culture. I suspect Hall was part of a problem there. - Aetherial

Please don't make it personal Don. I'm working on getting a job and a girlfriend. These things take time. - walshyleafsfan
not directed at you directly walshy but generally to those who shouldnt be here...
We need to get this back to a canucks thread which its meant to be, not a leafs thread talking about that team. YOu guys come in here in numbers trying to hijack the thread and discuss your team. You have a place for that already, in the leafs thread. Please leave and let us get on with canucks talk.
btw our blogger mentioning ex canucks going to different teams, one of which happened to be the leafs (among-st others) is NOT a a valid excuse to troll us here. |

everyone can see the sky.
the number of total baseball fans in the country and the team they support is pure conjecture.
but perhaps i'm wrong, maybe you can see all the baseball fans around the country just like you can look up and see the sky.
i'm just a dumb guy in vancouver. we don't have the supernatural thinking abilities of you folk.
btw, i don't care about baseball. i care about you! |
