It is a thread that raises Canuck issues that anyone on the site might want to discuss. As long as people abide by the rules it doesn't matter who is where.

Unless there were a lot of posts that were deleted before I saw them, I actually don't think things were that over the top. I also think your mod did a good job and showed appropriate restraint. All the flagging every time a Leafs fan posted was kind of embarrassing.

man, why do you care? As far as I'm concerned, it's NOT their team, it's ours. I don't even care about baseball all that much, but when the fans from another city who have never won a damn things themselves get arrogant and rip into the Leafs, as far as I'm concerned, they can get their own baseball, basketball, whatever team.

They're not welcome. They're the losers with nothing. These are our teams.

The funny thing is that this all started with Don running in and reporting about what was going on in the Leafs thread - mass hysteria because Pronmann ranked Laine ahead of Matthews. Things then proceeded as you would expect ....... Nylander sucks, etc, etc. Once the silliness started and got reported back, more folks came in and things got out of hand.

It's interesting just how strong the animosity really is. Seems to me and this is a pretty unscientific view that many Leaf fans on HB tend to see the Canucks and fans here as silly what there are a lot of Canuck fans that really do hate the Leafs and their fans. It really does lead to the kind of baiting you mentioned.

Vancouver Canucks

They still have the Sedins and they spent a bunch of money and term on Loui Eriksson. Why? Well that's a good question.

The time has come for Vancouver to re-tool, and so far it does not yet look like they are fully embracing it. The team has held on to some strange assets like Burrows, Edler, Hansen, and Hamhuis, and have dealt away picks and prospects in order to bring in Gudbranson, Granlund, Sutter, and Brandon Prust. Why these things have happened is as good a question as any. In fact, the Canucks only had two selections in the first four rounds of the draft this year, and only have five selections in next year's 2017 draft. The young players in Vancouver, what with Horvat, Pedan, Hutton, Tryamkin, Virtanen, and Gaunce is pretty nice, but what else is there going on with the Canucks roster? They have seven of their highest paid forwards over the age of 27, and three of them over age 35. They finished near last in the NHL last year and they sport a defensive group which still figures to have Luca Sbisa featured prominently.

The Canucks aren't going to compete, and this year they need to let the youth they have get in and get their feet wet. It looks like the start of some trying times in Vancouver.

I'm ok with regulation.....debate is good, and can be fun. I wasn't mad about the "guests" that wanted to talk hockey, just the hijackers and poop disturbers and even then its not the big deal. Its our posters getting banned for sticking up for themselves, or getting insta banned by other forum mods for saying almost anything, no matter how innocuous. the ratio of four of ours to 1 of our "guests" (in the canucks forum) seems pretty one sided (opinion) And by the sounds of it, you had no part in said bans....so time outs were done by another forums mods, it promotes a walking on eggshells feeling in my own house (forum).

But if you are gonna be our Regulator.....I'm cool with that.
