You mistake a fan (based on fanatic) from a contrarian. I have never said a bad word about anyone here who is a Canucks fan nor Kaptaan. He is a contrarian not a fan. His stance on Tanev is ludicrous but it's his schtick. He gets attention from making absurd comments.

I am an occasional poster here and I do not adhere to fandom. I look at the game more from a logical and statistical POV. I come here to talk hockey and take the time to evaluate others positions before making comments. Yes, occasionally I spew but not often. Not because I am afraid of the community but because I want to understand and help others be better hockey fans.

I am a hockey fan first and foremost and a Canucks fan second. My allegiance is strong but my fandom goggles are weak.

What happened here today is an affront to hockey, period. A few fans of other teams hijacked a thread and were idiots, IMHO.

So... what did I miss?

So, considering the new thread's shut down I'm going to assume it has been a pretty rough day. I'm not sure I want to know what happened.

Canucks fans mentioned the Leafs in a Canucks thread. poop hit the fan because apparently we aren't allowed to talk about Canada's team.

Unfortunately our mod is a nice guy and shows reason. He could have created a scene from a Quentin tarrintino flick but instead was calm and didn't go crazy. I wish he had off and banned leafs fans for months, as that's how we would have been treated in their thread if we behaved how they did in ours.

Thread was hijacked by asshats, regulars either:
1. Left knowing it was gonna be a poop show
2. Said something and got banned

Asshats continued unabated. No Canucks hockey talk here today.

I figured it was something like that, based on the last few days. The shltty thing is, I thought a lot of those guys were pretty good dudes. I don't mind a little good natured back and forth between fans and there was a lot of that going on, unfortunately that'll get lost under all the idiocy. There'll be more animosity than ever.

The worst part is that he's not even good at it. Basically just shows up and says you can't get rid of me. Nothing funny to add, or anything to add at all really.

He doesn't make anything ban worthy, just makes stupid comments that are annoying. And he does it over and over. Shows up and makes these comments that a mod won't notice, but we all know what he's doing.

It's an absolutely fantastic thread to be in. I spend most of my time there. Mainly because they sound exactly like Leafs fans did under Burke/JFJ/Nonis, there's more Leafs talk there than anywhere else I've found on this site, they absolutely despise Toronto and the Leafs to the point where nothing makes sense anymore it's just Spatso-like statements, and it's so easy to get them tied up in knots.

Their opinions change like the wind, they're so Pro-Benning it's awesome to see and the kicker for me, I genuinely think the IQ level is alot lower there than here, so I get to win more arguments.

Makita is not to blame, other thread owners are being bumholes because their teams are frustrated. Idiots are spreading. Truth.
