Thanks... It's based on the idea that we have no say over the team's direction... We just have to hope that they figure it out... I hope Vantel is right.... I like Benning, but my faith in this organization is pretty low.... - MrMagoo
i'm at that point as well. i try to look at the deals now in a vacuum b/c my short range vision and the front office's differs. no point in constantly re-running the tear down/compete model. the team has clearly made a choice so we have to resign ourselves to your sentence above: we have no say over the team's direction.
i, do however, find confidence in benning's drafting. in the long run, that should smooth things out. |

Let me put this another way: I think the secrecy is what causes so many problems.... I could be wrong; I'm not sure who the whole banning part works. - MrMagoo
It really depends on the moderator. It also depends on their history with the offending poster. After all, the mods are human (well most of them) too. |

Yes... drafting is good... I do think that he will build a very good team in the long run; that is, if he's not fired first... |

i don't see a lot of dissension within the family. they run the canucks in the way that made them successful acquiring the family wealth. |

very true... The problem would be in the next hire... Do either of you trust that they could bring in the right people? I don't have a lot of faith in the hockey hiring ability.... Maybe they got it right this time, but there are a lot of red flags so far... |

I know you are just being a solid dude but canucks (and Vegas) fans should not tolerate trash in Carols blogs - CanuckDon

The thing is no-one knows what goes on behind the scenes, I handed out 3 bans today, but this isn't something that I need to advertise.
And Canada Cup is spot on that there really wasn't much that I could have appropriately banned guys for.
I wish everyone would do us a favour and ignore our leaf interlopers, are they a pain in the derrière, absolutely, but their harmless if you (Canuck posters) ignore them completely. - Makita
you know we love you, myself included.
there is however in the code of conduct that states baiting and posting comments in effort to provoke fighting is a ban-able offense. I think with the number of them that come over all at once to start crap and derailing threads....repeatedly I might add...that that is an offense worthy of a ban. I know you are patient, so perhaps a posted stern warning once it starts would at least help out. |

I am a hockey fan first and foremost and a Canucks fan second. My allegiance is strong but my fandom goggles are weak.
What happened here today is an affront to hockey, period. A few fans of other teams hijacked a thread and were idiots, IMHO. - PuckShack

The first guy they hired had no prior management experience. He did some things very well, and some very poorly. It didn't end well.
If you believe the idea that Torts was their man, then it brings that decision into question as well.
Although i'm sure they signed off on Benning, I would think he was Linden's hire. I think hiring Linden was smart to try and use a fan favourite to gain fan support again they went with someone who had no experience.
What I don't like about them is that they seem to be somewhat sneaky and underhanded.
I don't have much confidence in their ability to hire because I think that in order to be successful at their jobs, GM's need an autonomy they don't seem to have here. |

I wish there was a way to lock threads solely to people who actually are fans of the team and not allow other people from other fanbases to post on threads not their own. There's always Ek's open threads for people who want to chirp each other. We should be able to talk about our team, and our team in relations to others without everyone coming here to try and chirp us about it. |

They hired a rookie president who hired a rookie gm who hired a rookie head coach. They all have pedigree, they've all spent their lives in the game, but you'd like some NHL experience somewhere.

I am still around and monitoring the blog, I read pretty much everything posted, I also pride myself on listening to the people I'm here to assist, so..... I'll make some changes to the way I enforce the CoC. I will employ a no patience policy and ban soft trolling immediately.
Personally I don't like this method, but it seems what the majority here want.
And BTW puckshack, Petenut26, golfingsince, Gen.Leighhazy are all Canuck fans that are just venting at what happened today, 2 of those guys are alts of the guys that were banned today, you may not agree with their methods of the way they responded to walshy, but their good guys and hopefully you can understand their frustration with walshy and other trolls from today.
FFS it's time to stop bickering amongst ourselves. |

I do like though that the presidency and GM are not the same person like many teams do and we have had previously.
At least trevor has experience with business and running companies (that have done exceptionally well too)
Benning has experience with being GM assistant in Boston and apparently had a large role in operations. He's not exactly a rookie. |

Back in the day when everyone was on board with the Canucks there were a few of us on the opposite end. Now that everyone is against what is going on , there are a few of us that are happy.
i am still against the flow of General Opinion. |
