they did, however, fill a need at rw...an argument could be made that despite the superstardom of stamkos--whom everyone would agree is a standout player that no one in sabreland would shun--the pecking order remains intact for the team...sometimes loading up with too many stars can be counterproductive

Okposo's deal is big, but you have to hope that we can get some cheaper value players. Player like Bailey, Nylander, Carrier you hope can play well on their 1st and 2nd deals before they get their big money. Then when they do need that money you have to decide to either keep them and be tight on the cap or lose them and get back assets a la Chicago

Bills released OLB Manny Lawson.
He's the first "big-name" cut of the weekend as teams drop their rosters to 53. Lawson is reportedly facing a one-game suspension, but the Bills have said they've yet to be notified of it. Now, it doesn't matter to them. It's possible Buffalo brings Lawson back at a later date, but for now they're moving on from the 32-year-old. Lawson proved capable in pass coverage last season.
